Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) has long been associated with a heightened risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). A number mechanisms have implicated to underlie this brain-heart axis relationship, such as altered functioning the autonomic nervous system and increased systemic inflammation. While neural alterations repeatedly observed in PTSD, they are rarely considered PTSD-CVD link. The is pathway connecting frontal limbic brain regions brainstem periphery via it may be promising model for understanding CVD PTSD given its overlap deficits. We first provide summary primary association between CVD. then review relevance well findings from trials demonstrating that treatments effects on areas axis. The feeling of emotional tension, restlessness, pressure, and inability to relax is referred as psychological stress. Although it unclear how stress affects neurobiological processes, several factors are thought be involved, including central peripheral neuroinflammation, structural degeneration in the prefrontal cortex hippocampus, alterations fear neurocircuitry, neuroplasticity. Aside from data relating cognitive impairment chronic low-grade inflammatory stress, there growing evidence linking mental oxidative systemic inflammation development disorders. After acute illnesses, insomnia, depression, anxiety, posttraumatic disorder, were reported. Cognitive exacerbated by processes. There uncertainty about potential mechanisms causing these symptoms, although they likely complex, with playing a significant role. Therefore, this review aims investigate role stress-induced impairment. Depicting critical for understanding treating such exposure anxiety

Abstract Introduction Despite its high lifetime prevalence rate and the elevated disability caused by posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), treatments exhibit modest efficacy. In consideration of abnormal connectivity between dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) amygdala in PTSD, several randomized controlled trials (RCTs) addressing efficacy different noninvasive brain stimulation (NIBS) modalities for PTSD management have been undertaken. However, previous RCTs reported inconsistent results. The current network meta‐analysis (NMA) aimed to compare acceptability various NIBS protocols management. Methods We systematically searched ClinicalKey, Cochrane Central Register Controlled Trials, Embase, ProQuest, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web Science, ClinicalTrials.gov identify relevant RCTs. targeted was those comparing interventions, such as transcranial direct (tDCS), repetitive magnetic (rTMS), transcutaneous cervical vagal nerve stimulation, patients with PTSD. NMA conducted using a frequentist model. primary outcomes were changes overall severity (to be specific, rates dropouts any reason). Results identified 14 that enrolled 686 participants. demonstrated among investigated types, high‐frequency rTMS over bilateral DLPFCs associated greatest reduction severity. Further, comparison sham controls, excitatory right DLPFC with/without left significant reductions PTSD‐related symptoms, including depression anxiety Conclusions This or without symptoms.
