An important step in implementing geospatial digital twins is to enhance the expressiveness of virtual geographical scenes for physical world. However, existing cannot quickly express dynamically changing geographic environment remote users due inefficient handling modeling processes, user perception, and sharing. The research analysed concept characteristics twins, constructed scene ontology, based on which we developed spatiotemporal semantic rules designed a dynamic annotation algorithm representation scenes. Finally, investigated real-time transmission method panoramic video 5 G used immersive reality (IVR) realize experience immersion We selected specific containing multiple typical entities develop three prototype systems experimental analyses. results showed that proposed enabled view VR device. average latency this process was 14.72 seconds. Compared with by traditional methods, experiments advantageous comprehensiveness, timeliness, photorealism abilities user's perception.

Images of melting ice have become powerful symbols climate change, attracting both public attention and scientific interest. This research uses web technologies to document communicate the ongoing retreat Belvedere Glacier in Italian Alps. By combining historical contemporary 2D 3D geospatial data, paper presents a comprehensive digital platform that allows visualization long-term changes Glacier. To increase understanding engagement, we develop user-friendly provides interactive tools for exploring glacier data. fostering deeper complex processes involved by different audiences (students, general public, technical experts), this work aims inspire further cooperation, also thanks reproducibility open-source code.

This paper proposes a flood risk visualization method that is (1) readily transferable (2) hyperlocal, (3) computationally inexpensive, and (4) geometrically accurate. proposal for communication, to provide high-resolution, three-dimensional at the sub-meter level. The couples laser scanning point cloud with algorithms produce textured floodwaters, achieved through compounding multiple sine functions in graphics shader. hyper-local approach enhanced by ability portray changes (i) watercolor, (ii) texture, (iii) motion (including dynamic heights) various prediction scenarios. Through decoupling physics-based predictions from visualization, dynamic, viewer was produced modest processing resources involving only single, quad-core processor frequency around 4.30 GHz no card. system offers several major advantages. enables its use on browser or virtual reality hardware and, thus, promotes local dissemination planning, mitigation. can be used any scenario where water interfaces built environment, including inside of pipes. When tested coastal inundation hurricane, 92% neighborhood participants found it more effective communicating than traditional 2D mapping warnings provided governmental authorities.
