Nephrotoxicity is a condition characterized by decline in kidney function due to the toxic effects of medications and substances, such as nephrotoxic antibiotic gentamicin. Artocarpus champeden traditional medicinal plant that commonly found Indonesia. This study aims evaluate potential ethyl acetate fraction leaves (FEC) improving an animal model nephrotoxicity induced gentamicin piroxicam. Three groups animals were treated with FEC at dosages 125, 250, 500 mg/kg BW orally for four weeks following induction 100 (Gen) intraperitoneally 3.6 piroxicam (Prx) orally. The nephroprotective effect was compared NaCMC (5%), ketosteril (55 mg/kg), untreated normal, positive, negative controls, respectively. biochemical examinations histopathological analysis conducted on last day. Compared control group, FEC-treated showed significant improvement function, correlating increasing doses. test group also exhibited increased creatinine clearance improved cell structure, comparable samples ketosteril. likely attributed its flavonoid content, acting through antioxidant anti-inflammatory mechanisms. A. demonstrated activity has therapeutic agent damage hypertension from natural sources.

Context: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease characterized by an inflammatory reaction and cartilage degradation. Artocarpus altilis well-known traditional medicine with various phenolic flavonoid content. Several pharmacological properties of A. extract (AAE) have been reported, but its effectiveness in osteoarthritis unknown. Aims: To investigate the potential AAE as anti-osteoarthritis. Methods: The Wistar rats induced OA mono-iodoacetate (MIA). model were treated three dose levels (100, 200, 400 mg/kg) for 28 days. As positive control used Na-diclofenac (20 mg/kg). Serum IL-1β, IL-10, MMP-3, MMP-13 histopathological profiles compared to MIA group normal (5% Na-CMC). Results: experimental results showed that could significantly suppress production mediator factor matrix-degrading proteinase MMP-13, degeneration. In addition, increased anti-inflammatory improved synovial inflammation, thickness. Conclusions: has be developed anti-osteoarthritis therapeutic agent from natural medicine.
