Developing highly efficient single-atom catalysts (SACs) for electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CO2RR) is a promising approach to promoting neutrality. However, challenges such as low activity, selectivity, and high costs hinder industrial scaling, attributed the lack of innate activity or insufficient transition metal (TM) active site density in current catalysts. Therefore, focus CO2RR research remains on developing SACs with intrinsic catalytic TM coverage, cost-effectiveness. This study presents design coverage material M2C12 (M = Mo, Ru, Rh, W, Re, Os, Ir) electrocatalyst using functional theory calculations. Among these materials, W2C12 demonstrates superior selectivity CO products overpotentials 0.45 V W up 71.84 weight percent (wt%). To further enhance its non-metallic coordination modification (NM B, N, O, P doping, C vacancy) was explored W2C12. The results indicate that N-doped (N-W2C12) can significantly improve achieving an extremely overpotential 0.34 V. offers valuable insights into designing stability other reactions.

Abstract Developing advanced and economically viable technologies for the capture utilization of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) is crucial sustainable energy production from fossil fuels. Converting CO into valuable chemicals fuels a promising approach to mitigate atmospheric levels. Among various methods, photocatalytic reduction stands out its potential reduce emissions produce useful products. Here, novel perovskite ZnMoFeO 3 (ZMFO) nanosheets are presented as semiconductor photocatalysts reduction. Experimental results show that ZMFO has narrow bandgap, exceptional visible light response, large specific surface area, high crystallinity, surface‐active sites, leading an impressive activity 24.87 µmolg −1 h strong stability. Theoretical calculations reveal conversion CH 4 on follows formaldehyde carbine pathways. This study provides significant insights designing innovative oxide‐based economical efficient systems.

Abstract In this study, Cu 2 O was prepared using a one‐step reduction method, and Bi WO 6 uniformly mixed with in various proportions to obtain O/Bi composites different contents. The samples (Cu ) were used as photocatalytic materials the photo‐reductive conversion of CO into CH 4 CO. morphology, microstructure, chemical composition obtained photocatalysts investigated series characterization methods, including X‐ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission (TEM), UV–visible spectroscopy (UV–vis), photoelectron (XPS). Furthermore, photoreduction studied under low‐power visible LED lights irradiation (blue green LED) save energy. Experimental results showed that 3:1 ratio possessed optimal properties, yielding 27.4 μmol g −1 methane 30.6 carbon monoxide light.
