The paper investigates the feasibility of plasma electrolytic treatment (PET) 90CrSi tool steel to enhance hardness and wear resistance. influence electrophysical parameters PET (polarity active electrode, chemical-thermal treatment, polishing modes) on composition, structure, morphology, tribological properties surface was studied. Tribological tests were carried out under dry friction conditions according shaft-bushing scheme with fixation coefficient temperature in contact zone, measurements microgeometry parameters, morphological analysis tracks, weight wear. formation a hardened 1110–1120 HV due quenched martensite is shown. Features nitrogen diffusion during anodic cathodic revealed, coefficients calculated. resistance increased by 5–9 times after followed polishing, 16 PET, up 32 subsequent polishing. It shown that all cases, violation frictional bonds occurs through plastic displacement material, mechanism fatigue contact.
