High/ medium entropy brass and bronze alloys exhibit considerable potential for application as structural materials. Here, the Cu45Mn8Ni40Sn7 alloy achieves excellent synergy in terms of hardness, compressive strength, ductility, wear resistance through a multi-stage heat treatment technique. The effects on phase composition, microstructural evolution, mechanical properties, tribological performance were systematically investigated. alloy, treated by homogenization (820 ℃/4 h)-solution (900 ℃/1 h)-aging (450 ℃/5 h), exhibits hardness 362 HV, yield strength 626 MPa, ultimate 1229 fracture strain 47.2%, toughness 20.7 MPa·m1/2, maintains low rate 1.72×10-5 mm3·N-1·m-1. Homogenization solution eliminate coarse dendrites harmful lamellar structure at grain boundaries that deteriorate alloy's plasticity toughness. Needle-like precipitates with sub-micron scale form during aging have not been previously reported high/ alloys, playing leading role enhanced properties alloy.
