Synthetic materials alternatives are crucial for reaching sustainable development goals and waste reduction. Biomaterials biomolecules obtained through bacterial fermentation offer a viable solution. Double-layer active UV-blocking material composed of nanocellulose as an inner layer poly(hydroxyoctanoic acid) containing prodigiosin compound was produced by layer-by-layer deposition. This study referred the new consisted three components in manner, activity: bio-pigment prodigiosin, poly(hydroytoctanoate) - biopolymer microbial fermentations. Prior final double film produced, PHO films different PG concentrations charge bioactivity (0.2, 0.5 1 wt%) casted systematically characterized (FTIR, DSC, XRD, wettability, SEM, transparency, mechanical tests) to optimize their properties. The formulation with best properties less toxicity effect tested using MRC5 cells chosen outer double-layer production. Water contact angle measurements confirmed that hydrophilic hydrophobic improved comparison native BNC. Migration test indicated release all media consequence bilayer formulation, while from 10 % ethanol not detected. All findings suggested this activated, candidate excellent potential packaging industry.
