Purpose This study aims to seek understand counterproductive knowledge behaviour (CKB) in higher education institutions (HEIs) by integrating hiding (KHi) and lack of sharing (LKS). Design/methodology/approach The current research uses a hybrid conceptual review combining the bibliometric 47 articles. analysis aimed identify maps, sought development fields. Findings highlights essential summaries, such as pioneering authors, seminal papers maps. However, hoarding dimension LKS appears niche theme. indicates three groups factors contributing KHi LKS. Moreover, causal relation between both well faculty member performance while proposing remedies derived from social exchange theory (SET) conservation resource (COR) theory. Research limitations/implications present provides an integrated image HEI context, its potential SET COR. basis this is literature review; thus, future studies are recommended empirically explore integration within context.
