Abstract
The
development
of
efficient
photocatalysts
for
artificial
photocatalytic
energy
conversion
is
an
intriguing
strategy.
Promisingly,
conjugated
polymers
(CPs)
have
been
actively
investigated
as
alternatives
to
traditional
inorganic
semiconductors
photocatalysis
due
their
molecularly
tunable
optoelectronic
properties,
thus
providing
a
great
platform
molecular
design.
Incorporating
donor
(D)
and
acceptor
(A)
units
into
the
backbone
CPs
ensures
adequate
D−A
interface,
which
essential
facilitating
charge
separation.
This
approach
also
allows
bandgaps
leading
significant
progress
in
conversions
recent
years.
Here,
fundamentals
D–A
type
are
initially
outlined,
followed
by
advanced
experimental
methods
density
functional
theory
(DFT)
calculations
investigating
carrier
dynamics.
Then,
detailed
exposition
synthetic
strategies
carried
out.
Their
extensive
applications
diverse
energy‐related
conversions,
such
hydrogen
evolution,
oxygen
overall
water
splitting,
CO
2
reduction,
N
H
O
evolution
comprehensively
presented.
review
provides
new
comprehensive
insights
molecular‐level
design
catalysts
boosted
conversion,
expected
further
advance
photocatalysis.

Comprehensive
Summary
Previous
studies
have
demonstrated
linear
polymers
embedded
with
B←N
units
display
efficient
photocatalytic
hydrogen
evolution
performance,
but
their
limited
structural
tunability
restricts
photogenerated
carrier
dynamics
modulation.
Current
researches
mainly
focus
on
polymers,
while
the
study
of
in
field
two‐dimension
conjugated
(2DCPs)
remains
an
uncultivated
ground.
Herein,
three
2DCPs
containing
were
synthesized
and
production
performance
was
investigated.
Among
them,
BN‐Tz
exhibited
best
property
a
rate
89.5
μmol·h
–1
,
BN‐Ph
BN‐TPB
only
26.4
8.5
respectively.
analyses
showed
that
remarkable
ability
catalyst
attributed
to
its
superior
transport
separation
carriers,
as
well
construct
stronger
built‐in
electric
better
planarity.
Meanwhile,
it
found
manipulation
electronic
properties
structures
connected
unit
could
effectively
regulate
molecular
polarity,
thus
achieving
control
structure
materials.
This
work
extends
application
materials
photocatalysis
lays
good
foundation
for
subsequent
design
photocatalysts
units.
