Currently, comparisons between biochar and activated carbon in terms of performance, environmental impacts as well financial implications are limited. In this study, sourced from date palm waste were analysed using gate-to-grave life cycle assessment approach results compared to derived woody biomass. Simapro 8.5 software was used quantitatively simulate the both adsorbents. Date global warming potentials (GWPs) found be 1.53 8.96 kg CO2eq/kg respectively. The cumulative energy demand (CED) for producing 20.3 MJ/kg, whereas, resulted 119.5 MJ/kg. Both adsorbents' performance adsorption capacity compared, it that is comparable with carbon. economic demonstrated average cost production $1.06/kg $1.34/kg, Sensitivity analysis showed when source changed renewable energy, a CED dropped 105.2 MJ/kg 7.68 GWP 7.29 CO2 eq. 0.665 costs $1.30 $1.04 Based on more cost-effective, shows less impact, has efficiency
