Urbanization
is
advancing
rapidly

globe,

urban
agglomeration
(UA)
has
become
an
important
by-product
of
urbanization
expansion.
The
rapid
development
UAs

land
use

services
(ES).
Understanding
these

China
analyzed
characteristics
spatiotemporal
changes

trade-off
synergy
between
ES
from
2000
to
2020.
We
found
that
increased
outer
edge
a
city

expansion,
which
was
more
prominent
at
national
scales.
Carbon
storage,
biodiversity
conservation,
habitat
quality,
soil
water
conservation
tended
decrease,
but
nutrition
delivery
ratio
food
supply
increase.
Various
presented
negative
synergistic
relationship.

This
article
evaluates
the
composite
index
of
carbon
lock-in
(CLI),
and
then
examines
whether
green
financial
inclusion
(GFI)
can
help
to
explain
pace
CLI
in
283
Chinese
cities
for
period
2010–2017.
We
also
conduct
four
heterogeneous
analyses,
detect
asymmetric,
threshold,
mediating
effects
GFI-CLI
nexus.
The
primary
findings
reveal
that:

GFI
plays
a
significant
role
abatement;
(2)
restraining
effect
on

more
eastern
China,
first-tier
cities,
non-resource-based
capital
cities;
(3)
shows
an
asymmetric
correlation
with

The
rational
use
of
land
is
an
important
guarantee
for
the
sustainable
development
resource-based
cities.

panel
data

cities
in
China
from
2004

2018

green
efficiency
(GLUE)
by
SBM
model

Metafrontier-Malmquist
productivity
index
