This study assessed the properties of particleboard produced from replacement urea formaldehyde with cassava starch. Cassava starch (CS) and urea-formaldehyde (UF) were mixed at percentages 100/0, 90/10, 70/30, 50/50, 0/100, respectively. The mixture was added to wood particles 15% adhesive content based on weight oven-dried particles. Particleboards sizes 20 mm × 300 a targeted density 600 kg m–3 manufactured by hot-pressing 170 °C, compacting pressure 3.5 MPa for 8 min. Physical mechanical (density, thickness swelling, water absorption, static bending, hardness) tested. physical also increased in highest proportions UF. Comparatively, 50% CS + UF, it performed better all evaluated properties. Thus, could adopt latter ratio industry reduce quantity cost UF its environmental emissions. results obtained adequate conformity international standards. Hence, mix adhesives different ratios get desirable It is possible conclude that be considered sustainable alternative adhesive.
