Abstract This study comprehensively explores the compaction and compressibility characteristics of snail shell ash (SSA) ground-granulated blast-furnace slag (GBFS) in stabilizing local bentonite for landfill baseliner applications. The untreated soil, with a liquid limit 65%, plastic 35%, plasticity index 30%, exhibited optimal at moisture content 32% maximum dry density 1423 kg/m 3 . SSA revealed dominant presence 91.551 wt% CaO, while GBFS contained substantial 53.023 SiO 2 Treated samples 20% 5% highest (1561 ) (13%), surpassing other mixtures. 15% SSA-treated sample demonstrated superior strength enhancement, reaching an unconfined compressive 272.61 kPa over 28 days, 10% GBFS-treated achieved 229.95 kPa. combination shear (49 kPa) elastic modulus (142 MPa), showcasing robust mechanical properties. Additionally, displayed favourable hydraulic conductivity (5.57 × 10 –8 cm/s), outperforming Notably, permeability test, critical aspect study, was meticulously conducted triplicate, ensuring reliability reproducibility reported values. showed reduced compared to control exhibiting more consistent response applied pressures. Scanning Electron Microscopy analysis composition changes mixture, suggesting its potential as effective base liner systems. In conclusion, properties conductivity, presenting promising choice

Joints and fractures lead to different failure mechanisms in rock masses under environments. The mechanical properties of rocks with fissures are key problems mass engineering. Parallel double-fracture quasi-sandstone specimens dip angles were prepared subjected triaxial compression tests after a single freeze-thaw cycle. Pore development, crack propagation, damage evolution, characteristics analysed. Combined the strength distribution theory microelements static elastic modulus theory, constitutive model cycles loads was established. This study explored pore fracture fractured sandstone thawing. results showed that wave velocity thawed decreased, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) T2 curve shifted right, frost heave force promoted development internal porosity specimens. With an increase angle, peak stress, expansion cohesion friction specimen 'U' shaped change trend, cracks, bridge penetration rate mixed tension shear gradually changed into failure. When 30° 60°, double had larger total more obvious brittle characteristics.
