Green infrastructure (GI) plays a pivotal role in contemporary urban infrastructure. investment (GII) provides fresh perspective for controlling carbon emissions the context of global climate change. Based on theoretical analysis, we employed panel data from Chinese cities to examine effects and operating mechanisms GII emissions. The research reveals that incremental can notably decrease emissions, various robustness tests endogeneity checks corroborate this finding. However, when considering cumulative effect, stocks do not appear influence emissions; mitigates by drawing pollution control talents, improving efficiency household waste treatment, increasing green spaces, heightening public attention environment. Relative central-western region, northern cities, smaller resource-based smart pilot with lesser environmental emphasis, is more effective curbing eastern southern larger non-resource-intensive initiative, stronger focus. This enhances understanding GI’s outcomes determinants an viewpoint. It also dissects four operative through which lowers offering novel interpretation variance emission levels across diverse traits.

Public environmental concern (PEC) serves as a prominent representative of informal regulation, which in turn propels the high-quality economic development. It's important to understand how enterprise digital transformation (EDT) and PEC are connected, this connection plays crucial role driving strong growth—it can be seen key pathway achieving This research examines influence mechanism on EDT through analysis data obtained from publicly traded companies Shanghai Shenzhen, China along with city-level covering period 2010 2021. In addition, heterogeneity was performed examine variations among cities, industries, enterprises, we total three conclusions follows. (1) The results our study reveal statistically significant positive association, indicating that an increase has substantial impact development EDT. association remains robust even after series robustness tests. (2) Mechanistic analyses further support finding. encourages investments (R&D), attract skilled personnel, commit responsibilities, thus promoting (3) From municipal viewpoint, is more cities advanced infrastructure, greater governmental subsidies, those located central western regions. industrial effect pronounced manufacturing firms heavily polluting industries.
