A novel process that combined reduction roasting with magnetization was developed to intensify the decomposition of zinc ferrite for selective extraction from high iron-bearing calcine. The mechanism ferritewas investigated in detail by thermodynamics analysis and experiments. results indicated 94.65% decomposed into oxide ferrous under optimal conditions 8 vol.% CO, 750 °C, 50 CO/(CO+CO2), 90 min. generated further converted ferriferrous an air atmosphere at 450 °C 30 After that, 93.62% contained calcine could be selectively extracted low acid leaching, whereas more than 90% iron concentrated leaching slag form magnetite, which recovered subsequent magnetic separation.
