In the nationwide effort to address environmental issues caused by solid waste, more than 100 cities in China have been included list of national Zero Waste City (ZWC) construction projects. However, absence a standardized evaluation method hinders quantitative comparisons among these cities. To overcome this challenge, comprehensive five-dimension was developed, taking into account both indicators and city-specific indicator systems. After system transformed an one, data processing weight assignment methods were applied obtain results for each dimension using linear weighted synthesis. Subsequently, By combining from individual dimensions, overall score derived. Meanwhile, utilizing obstacle analysis models scores, critical areas requiring attention ZWC could be identified. Empirical research conducted on Shenzhen following framework. The revealed several key findings: 1) performance increased significantly 58.9 108.3 after implementation pilot project. 2) dimensions Management Measure, Support Capacity, Characteristic had achieved or approached full indicating commendable progress. Level still room improvement. 3) While industrial waste management reached excellent level agricultural proved manageable, challenges persisted domestic landfill disposal. These aspects are considered weak points that may require longer-term efforts due inherent objective conditions.

Research background: In order to tackle climate change and ensure Paris agreements are met, countries forced look for alternative ways of producing, consuming, wasting adopt a circular economy. Reduction greenhouse gas emissions becomes one the key elements. The demand electricity is increasing, most derive from energy sector. Because that, it crucial transition fossil fuels renewable energy. Renewable energy, as part economy, also contributes sustainable development. Only efficient implementation economy practices can that development goals achieved. Purpose article: study aims at determining efficiency European Union implementing through attain SDGs. focuses on significance tool achieve highlights progress achieved in SDG EU. Methods: For assessment represented by indicators, data envelopment analysis (DEA) was performed. Findings & value added: This presents relation importance achieving SDGs helps understand how transforms into necessary actions needed improve. Based results, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ireland, Latvia, Estonia, Malta, Netherlands Bulgaria considered countries, while Austria least efficient. Unused solar wind power potential slow down development; however, EU programs strategies help move towards clean goals.

The consistent rise of the per capita waste generation rate has led to an escalation quantities and need expand disposal methods. Efforts develop clean affordable energy systems are increasingly linked waste-to-energy as part transition a circular economy (CE). A resource-efficient business model within CE offers variety environmentally friendly management options based on their overall environmental impacts but also makes efficient use available resources technologies convert different types into energy, which helps reduce adverse effects environment create additional sources.
