Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) has been a significant concern for governments, ecologists, the Ministry of Environment. Studies show growing increase in generation WEEE Brazil around world. In 2024 report by The Global E-Waste Monitor, was identified as largest generator South America, ranking second Americas, only behind United States. Given this scenario, sustainability practices actions are necessary to minimize incorrect disposal WEEE. Considering need provide innovative tools support teaching–learning process, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) invest heavily technology acquisition and, result, increasingly concerned about when it no longer meets its purchased needs. This study aims develop guidelines implementing management policies guide correct these materials HEIs. made possible visualize how important is business continuity highlight employees’ ecological awareness disposing unserviceable equipment. results present comparative data on WEEE, which served basis drawing up HEIs improving emphasized importance environmental responsibility.
