The objective of this study was to enhance the performance hemispherical solar stills (HSS) through experimental investigations utilizing various types sand beds as thermal storage materials. research examined influence type (yellow and black) bed heights (1, 2, 3 cm) on efficacy HSS. Additionally, explored effects external reflectors a vapor extraction fan sand-based results indicated that HSS using black demonstrated superior compared other operating conditions in terms both productivity efficiency. Particularly, most significant improvement for still (BSHSS) observed when employing with height 1 cm, resulting substantial 154% increase production, where production SS BSHSS + 4100 10400 mL/m2.day, respectively. Under these optimized conditions, efficiency R F reached 56%. In conclusion, an economic analysis conducted, revealing cost water treatment $0.022 per liter conventional $0.012 equipped condenser. These findings represent advancement enhancing feasibility distillation systems, thereby addressing global challenges scarcity environmental sustainability.

Solar stills are acknowledged as an environmentally friendly desalination method that addresses water scarcity issues in remote areas; however, they contend with a productivity challenge. This work presents combination of novel arrangements for the spherical solar distiller (RBSD) to augment its productivity. Rotational sphere was anticipated. The influence speed RBSD (0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 rpm) without wick tested. Also, effect utilizing preheater supply hot feed under various preheating temperatures, specifically 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 °C condenser investigated. Results revealed optimized is 0.5 rpm 1 wick, respectively, where rise reached 62% 45%, respectively. best temperature provided highest performance 65 °C, CSD produced 3250 mL/m2.day, while, at 6200 mL/m2.day increase by 91%. When integrating external preheater, (6800 mL/m2.day) augmented 116% over (3150 mL/m2.day). thermal efficiency 32% 62%, Finally, cost distilled CSD, found be 0.220$/L, 0.075$/L, 0.055$/L, 0.030$/L,
