Abstract Students are central actors at Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Whereas much can be achieved by the active participation of students in sustainability affairs, it is unclear what current level students’ knowledge and engagement regarding United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) around world, as well which initiatives being undertaken HEIs on this matter. In order to address research gap, study investigated status aimed implementation UN SDGs. A comprehensive methodology was carried out means a bibliometric analysis, case studies, survey involving sample 602 from 53 countries. For data were analysed with support VOSviewer software, while quantitative analysis performed IBM SPSS Statistics.
