The increase in atmospheric CO2 caused by human activities has driven the development of technologies to capture this gas before it reaches atmosphere. This study analyzed sorption using amine-based solvents, such as methyldiethanolamine (MDEA), diethylenetriamine (DETA), triethanolamine (TEA), and monoethanolamine (MEA) 40 wt.% aqueous solutions, under high-pressure conditions (initial pressure: 500 psia) room temperature (30 °C), both non-stirred stirred systems. Piperazine (PZ), a heterocyclic compound, was tested an additive improve kinetics process. Kinetic thermodynamic analyses were conducted evaluate efficiency each solution terms reaction rate loading capacity. MEA TEA exhibited higher rates, while DETA MDEA most thermodynamically efficient due highest PZ kinetic behavior depended on equipment used; system, no effect observed, appreciable. Additionally, corrosivity revealed that MEA, primary amine, corrosive, whereas TEA, tertiary least corrosive.

ABSTRACT This study investigates the nonlinear effects of economic efficiency on CO 2 reduction and energy transition, with a particular focus advancing SDGs 7, 9, 13. Using panel data from 61 countries, analysis applies slacks‐based measure directional distance functions (SBM‐DDF) threshold regression models to explore complex relationship between efficiency, emissions, transition. Key findings reveal that while has generally improved over time, significant regional disparities remain. Improvements in lead substantial reductions emissions promote but is nonlinear, influenced by factors such as climate vulnerability, global value chain (GVC) integration, digitalization, intensity. Heightened vulnerability deeper integration into GVC amplify emission‐reducing whereas increased digitalization initially attenuates its decarbonization impact before shifting toward suppressive effect, concurrently reversing influence transition inhibitive facilitative. Furthermore, under higher intensity, exerts more pronounced both carbon abatement acceleration The also highlights heterogeneity across income levels, upper‐middle‐income countries experiencing stronger positive effects. These emphasize need for tailored, context‐sensitive policies account sectoral dynamics optimize sustainable development.

This study examines the policy and technological dynamics shaping China’s road transport sector’s transition to low-carbon sustainability, focusing on battery electric vehicles (BEVs) hydrogen fuel cell (HFCEVs). As world’s second-largest carbon emitter, China faces significant challenges in reducing its fossil dependency transport, which accounts for diverse emissions energy security risks. The present work, using a dual tech multi-level perspective (DTMLP) framework integrating (MLP) an advocacy coalition (ACF), analyzes interplay of landscape pressures (global constraints), regime (policy–market interactions), niche innovations (BEV/FCEV competition). results reveal BEVs’ dominance light-duty markets, achieving remarkable operational emission reductions but facing lifecycle lock-ins from production coal-dependent power grids. HFCEVs demonstrate potential heavy-duty decarbonization struggle with gray reliance infrastructure gaps. Policy evolution highlights shifting governance subsidies market-driven mechanisms, alongside regional disparities implementation. proposes three-phase roadmap: structural optimization (2025–2030), adaptation (2030–2045), hydrogen–electric system integration (post-2045), emphasizing material innovation, renewable alignment, governance. Our findings underscore necessity coordinated policy–technology synergies, grid decarbonization, circular economy strategies, overcome institutional inertia achieve ‘Dual Carbon’ targets. work provides actionable insights global sustainable transitions amid competing pathways geopolitical resource constraints.
