The theorization of social sustainability practices (SSPs) has remained underdeveloped compared to its environmental and economic counterparts, studies on firm-specific factors that enable SSPs are even more scanty. This study provides a theoretical explanation hotels. In so doing, the facilitates growth theory as well practice in hospitality industry. Through narrative interviews with purposively constituted focus groups, comprising directors, top managers, supervisor lower-end staff 5-star hotel Uganda, authors developed story highlighting hotel’s lived experiences, regarding while emphasizing context, actions, outcomes lessons. revealed stakeholder value co-creation, complex adaptive leadership knowledge-based dynamic capabilities essential enablers SSPs. findings suggest explained by nuanced interplay theory, complexity view, novel stride theorizing context.
