The epoxidation reaction of 1-octene by tert-butyl hydroperoxide in the presence TiB2, TiC and TiSi2 was investigated. It is shown that titanium compounds catalyzed exhibited different activity. established best choice for theepoxidation which provided 73 % conversion 75 selectivity epoxide formation. performance after three runs indicated it’s excellent reusability.

A binary catalytic system comprising tetrahydroxydiboron and tetrabutylammonium iodide (TBAI) was used to catalyze the cycloaddition of carbon dioxide (CO2) with epoxides. The catalyst (9 mol %), in combination use TBAI (13.5 %) as a nucleophile, is capable catalyzing CO2 various terminal epoxides under room temperature balloon. In addition, range internal epoxides, including sterically hindered bicyclic vegetable oil-based were suitable for system, affording series cyclic carbonates moderate high yields. tetrahydroxydiboron/TBAI cooperative mechanism elucidated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, electrospray ionization-high-resolution mass spectrometry. Results reveal that exhibits dual effects, activating both epoxides; initially, it underwent insertion form boron–CO2 adduct subsequently activated through interaction B–O bond.

Abstract Tetradentate ONNO donor ligands H 2 hz(fp) ( I ), hz(butp) II ) and hz(bp) III synthesized by the reaction of hydrazine hydrate with 4‐formyl‐3‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐5‐pyrazolone (fp), 4‐butyryl‐3‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐5‐pyrazolone (butp) 4‐benzoyl‐3‐methyl‐1‐phenyl‐5‐pyrazolone (bp), respectively, react [Mo VI O (acac) ] in 1 : molar ratio refluxing methanol to give binuclear complexes [(μ‐O){Mo (H O)} 3 ). All are characterized several techniques that include, FT‐IR, UV/Vis, NMR, 13 C NMR spectroscopy, elemental thermal analysis, single crystal X‐ray analysis . Ligands coordinate through a set ON functionalities same ligand two Mo groups attached an oxido‐bridge. Additional coordination water each vanadium makes them maintain octahedral geometry. Azine moiety coordinates molybdenum symmetrical μ‐{η ‐(N−N)} fashion. Catalytic activity these was studied for cycloaddition CO epoxides. A pressure 4 bar , 3.0 mg catalyst, mmol tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) at 120 °C 6 h were found be most suited condition 10 epoxide. Under optimized conditions, product yield selectivity alkene carbonate all investigated. As high as 96 % almost 99 styrene under conditions achieved.

Abstract Despite extensive research into developing efficient and environmentally friendly catalysts for converting CO 2 over the last decade, search a robust cost‐effective catalytic system is ongoing. This study describes applying new using inexpensive ferrate zincate anions immobilized on easily available commercial ion exchange resins (IER) to produce cyclic carbonates from with high efficiency low cost. Two polystyrene‐based anion resins, Amberlyst TM A26‐Cl ( ) Amberlite IRA‐400‐Cl IRA400‐Cl ), were compared. The results demonstrated catalysts’ remarkable activity under mild conditions synergistic effect between polystyrene support active ammonium metallates, presenting scalable, eco‐friendly method carbonate production waste . A Design of Experiment (DoE) approach was implemented optimize cycloaddition reaction scale‐up 5 g batch propylene oxide conducting recycling tests that catalyst retained its four cycles. also explored use various epoxides found terminal produced very good yields. In summary, this introduces cost‐effective, scalable valuable carbonates, leveraging effects supports metallates.
