In past decades, anticancer research has led to remarkable results despite many of the approved drugs still being characterized by high systemic toxicity mainly due lack tumor selectivity and present pharmacokinetic drawbacks, including low water solubility, that negatively affect drug circulation time bioavailability. The stability studies, performed in mild conditions during their development or under stressing exposure temperature, hydrolytic medium light source, have demonstrated sensitivity parameters. For this reason, formation degradation products is assessed both pharmaceutical formulations environment as hospital waste. To date, numerous been developed for achieving tissue-specific targeting reducing toxic side effects, well improving stability. prodrugs represents a promising strategy targeted cancer therapy selectivity, efficacy active compounds. Recent studies show incorporation into vesicular systems, such polymeric micelles cyclodextrins, use nanocarriers containing chemotherapeutics conjugate monoclonal antibodies can improve pharmacokinetics, cellular absorption study, we summarize latest advances knowledge regarding effective highly stable formulated entrapped nanosystems.

Despite the exceptional progress in breast cancer pathogenesis, prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment strategies, it remains a prominent cause of female mortality worldwide. Additionally, although chemotherapies are effective, they associated with critical limitations, most notably their lack specificity resulting systemic toxicity eventual development multi-drug resistance (MDR) cells. Liposomes have proven to be an invaluable drug delivery system but multitudes liposomal systems developed every year only few been approved for clinical use, none which employ active targeting. In this review, we summarize recent strategies actively targeted surface, transmembrane internal cell receptors, enzymes, direct targeting dual-targeting cancer-associated cells, e.g., stem cells tumor microenvironment, etc.

Chitosan (CS) is a hemi-synthetic cationic linear polysaccharide produced by the deacetylation of chitin. CS non-toxic, highly biocompatible, and biodegradable, it has low immunogenicity. Additionally, inherent antibacterial properties mucoadhesive character can disrupt epithelial tight junctions, thus acting as permeability enhancer. As such, its derivatives are well-suited for challenging field ocular drug delivery. In present review article, we will discuss that contribute to successful application in delivery before reviewing latest advances use development novel ophthalmic systems. Colloidal nanocarriers (nanoparticles, micelles, liposomes) be presented, followed gels lenses inserts. Finally, instances coatings, aiming at conferring mucoadhesiveness other matrixes, presented.
