The laser pyrolysis technique was used in the synthesis of magnetic iron oxide nanopowders presence ethanol vapors as a sensitizer. This uses energy from continuous-wave CO2 operating at 9.25 μm wavelength, which is transferred to reactive precursors via excited molecules, inducing rapid heating argon-entrained Fe(CO)5 oxygen. For parametric study, different samples were prepared by changing percentages sensitizer mixture. Moreover, raw thermally treated temperatures and their morpho-structural properties investigated. results indicated high degree crystallinity (mean ordered dimension) enhanced when employed. On contrary, low concentrations, due decrease reaction temperature, nanoparticles with very size synthesized. particles have dimension range 2.5 10 nm (XRD TEM). Most them exhibited superparamagnetic behavior room saturation magnetization values up 60 emu/g. crystalline phase detected mainly maghemite, decreased carbon (up 8 at%). In addition expected Fe-OH on surfaces, C (and O) bearing functional groups such C-OH or C=O that act supplementary hydrophilic agent water-based suspension detected. Using as-synthesized nanopowders, water suspensions without agents (CMCNa, L-Dopa, chitosan) means horn ultrasonic homogenizer 0.5 mg/mL concentrations. DLS analyzes revealed some powder maintained stable agglomerates over time, mean 100 nm, pH between 4.8 5.3, zeta-potential exceeding 40 mV. All tested greatly improved stability 250–450 °C NPs, L-Dopa Chitosan smaller hydrodynamic sizes.
