Codon usage bias is a prevalent phenomenon observed across various species and genes. However, the specific attributes of codon in mitochondrial genome Ganoderma remain unknown. In this study, we investigated 12 core protein-coding genes (PCGs) 9 species, including 13 strains. The codons all strains showed preference for ending A/T. Additionally, correlations between base composition adaptation index (CAI), (CBI) frequency optimal (FOP) were identified, demonstrating impact on bias. Various indicators found to vary or within strains, GC3s, CAI, CBI, FOP. The results also revealed that PCGs have an average effective number (ENC) lower than 35, indicating strong toward certain codons. Evidence from neutrality plot PR2-bias analysis indicates natural selection major factor affecting Ganoderma. 11 22 (ΔRSCU>0.08 RSCU>1) identified with GCA, AUC, UUC being most widely used By analyzing combined sequences relative synonymous (RSCU) values, genetic relationships determined, variations them. Nevertheless, RSCU-based illustrated intra- interspecies species. This study deepens our insight into characteristics, genetics, evolution important fungal group.

Introduction The plant restoration and ecological of lead-zinc mines are very important. Methods In this study, we used three local plants to carry out abandoned lead–zinc mining areas detected the adaptive mechanisms soil bacterial diversity function during through 16S rRNA sequencing. Results results revealed that significantly reduced diversity, including Shannon, Simpson, observed species indices, whereas planting restored microbial a certain extent, leading increases in Shannon index Observed indices. Strong-flavor Baijiu, a widely popular distilled spirit in China, derives its characteristic aroma and quality largely from ethyl hexanoate, key flavor compound. The concentration of influenced by precursor hexanoic acid, is critical defining the style this Baijiu variety. In study, atmospheric room temperature plasma (ARTP) mutagenesis technology was applied to strains isolated Daqu enhance their acid ester production capabilities. A acid-producing strain, identified as Bacillus velezensis WY4 through morphological, physiological, biochemical, molecular analyses, used starting strain. Following 90 s ARTP exposure, mutant WY4-3, successfully developed, achieving balance between high mutation diversity moderate lethality. WY4-3 exhibited robust growth across pH range 4.2 5.0 demonstrated ethanol tolerance. After five days fermentation, produced 0.36 g/L total 0.528 ester, surpassing wild-type Enzymatic activity assays revealed significant enhancements amylase (9.13%), saccharifying enzyme (101.72%), esterification (573.71%) activities WY4-3. Validation multiple artificial systems further confirmed superior capacity These findings enrich microbial germplasm resources for brewing provide solid foundation strain selection genetic improvement processes. This study highlights potential optimizing microorganisms improving consistency Baijiu.

Ensifer adhaerens, a microorganism recognized for its capacity to synthesize vitamin B12 (VB12), has garnered significant attention in recent years. Nonetheless, practical application been limited by low production yields. Atmospheric and room-temperature plasma (ARTP) mutagenesis was utilized improve VB12 examine the associated mechanisms. Three high-yielding mutant strains─BCA-24, BCB-14, BCC-27─were isolated through multiple rounds of mutagenesis. The titer highly productive strain, BCA-24, rose significantly from 65.64 mg/L 104.54 mg/L. Genome resequencing identified 14 mutated genes, which seven (atpA, gntR, fusA, cobQ, ribD, cirA, UP) were functionally validated overexpression wild-type strains found positively influence biosynthesis. Notably, coexpression cobQ UP genes strain BCA-24 resulted 163.68 Transcriptomic analysis indicated that critical pathways related energy metabolism, S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), riboflavin synthesis upregulated relative wild type. A multiomics approach clarified mechanisms these mutations increase production, including enhanced transcription translation, optimized supply, improved product efflux. identification novel candidate have not previously studied, provides valuable resources future genetic engineering aimed at enhancing efficiency. This study offers improvements microbial while also delivering essential insights into metabolic regulation this important biosynthetic pathway.

Microbial-Induced Calcium Carbonate Precipitation (MICP) is an environmentally friendly, efficient, and sustainable new soil reinforcement technology. For this study, Bacillus pasteurii were domesticated cultured in a natural seawater environment with multiple gradients used for coral reef calcareous sand reinforcement, comparing the mineral composition of generated precipitates strength under different domestication gradient conditions. The results revealed that, while inhibits growth pasteurii, method allows bacteria to gradually adapt environment. Notably, their shape becomes thin long Furthermore, MICP mineralisation reaction rate faster and, increase gradient, increased. At same time, environment, small amount components addition CaCO3, such as MgxCay(CO3)z, Mg2+ content increased gradient. When curing effect it was found that can effectively enhance after multi-gradient increasing study provide ideas application technology environments construction South China Sea islands reefs.
