Abstract Hydrometallurgical processes are considered essential for recovering zinc resources from electric arc furnace dust (EAFD). The precipitation of is crucial to the entire hydrometallurgical process, as it impacts both quality products and efficiency process. This study investigated process ammonia–ammonium bicarbonate leached solutions using acetic acid a precipitant. variation in alkalinity total ammonia during recovery was studied, properties zinc-precipitating were systematically analyzed. Zinc could be quantitatively precipitated purified EAFD leachate acid, achieving up 85 % high-grade hydrozincite (Ζn 5 (CO 3 ) 2 (OH) 6 ). During concentration decreased continuously with increasing precipitant addition, while certain value then remained constant. High-grade Ζn obtained, characterized by needle-and-whisker crystal morphology. precipitate thermally decompose ZnO within temperature range 200–300 °C. These results provide valuable parameters industrial treatment EAFD.

In this study, the response surface method is used to develop a model for analyzing and optimizing zinc leaching experiments. An investigation into kinetics of smithsonite in ammonium citrate solution also conducted. A studied order represent these effects. The experimental data show that an increase temperature, concentration, stirring speed has positive impact on rate, while particle size negative it. optimal conditions consist temperature 70 °C, concentration 5 mol/L, 38 µm, rotational 1000 rpm. Under conditions, rate from 83.51%. It speculated kinetic will change when higher than 60 °C. When lower process under control shrinking core chemical reactions. calculated activation energy reaction equal 42 kJ/mol. can be described by following equation: 1−1−x1/3=k0⋅(C)0.6181⋅r0−0.5868⋅SS0.6901exp⁡−42/RT]t. This demonstrates as effective clean agent.

Experimental investigations of the effectiveness pretreatment acid leaching process a representative sample electric arc furnace dust (EAF dust) and characterization were performed. As EAF is globally defined as hazardous solid industrial waste, it contains high percentage zinc other useful components, in this paper, application will be carried out order to increase efficiency further leaching, all with aim using secondary raw material for metal valorization. The involved simple distilled water. Under following optimal conditions: time—30 min, ratio liquid phase—1:10, temperature—ambient, stirring speed—500 rpm, reduction content water-soluble components was achieved, namely, 83% Cl, 92% K, 74% Na, 14% Cd, 15% Ca, 19% F. enables significantly better filtration suspension increases sulfuric solution, compared direct dust.

Recycling electric arc furnace dust (EAFD) is significant for environmental security and resource recovery. To realize the short-flow recovery high-value utilization of zinc iron from dust, an innovative synchronous smelting reduction technology was proposed to treat EAFD. In this study, promoting mechanism reaction kinetics Zn Fe EAFD by were investigated. The results indicated that volatilization turned out be a two-staged model, in which controlled nucleation growth CO bubbles boundary initial stage respectively, diffusion ZnO FeO molten slag C/Slag interface later stage. presence wustite (FeyZn1-yO) solid solution primary factor limiting FeO. Optimizing composition, especially addition Na2CO3, could reduce formation solution, promote mass transfer efficiency phase. addition, carburized (dissolved carbon) crucial enhancing activity, generation uniform phase enhanced carburization alter method pathway. This transformation converts indirect between into more efficient direct dissolved carbon.
