Abstract The inhibition power of two Schiff bases on carbon steel corrosion in 1 M HCl and 0.5 H 2 SO 4 solutions has been investigated using weight loss, Tafel polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques. results revealed that increasing the concentration inhibitors acidic led to a higher efficiency. polarization curves indicated acted as mixed inhibitors, affecting both cathodic anodic reactions. adsorption surface followed Langmuir isotherm, various isotherm parameters such K ads , ΔG ΔH ΔS were determined at room temperature. Furthermore, effect temperature inhibitors′ performance was examined within range 25–45 °C. corrosion‐related activation energy, pre‐exponential factor (k), enthalpy, entropy calculated assess behavior. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) employed examine some samples, revealing differences efficiency attributed chemical structure. highlighted highest medium 93.4 %, with corresponding free energy 39.51 KJ/mol indicating physical‐chemical inhibitor molecules. an enthalpy value −40.6 suggested exothermic absorption process. findings are presented discussed detail.

Background Due to the low toxicity and easy decomposition of green plant extracts, they are gradually replacing traditional corrosion inhibitors. Generally, extracts have inhibition efficiency in corrosive media difficult exert effects. Therefore, it is urgent find efficient resources as Houttuynia cordata (HC) was used raw material performance mechanism on Q235 were studied 1.0 mol/L HCl solution. Methods The verified through weight loss electrochemical experiments. SEM + EDS, ATR-IR XPS detect analyse protective film formed surface after loss. DFT demonstrated adsorption sites reaction activity inhibitor, MD further mechanism. Significant Findings HC could spontaneously adsorb a stable film. With temperature increased, decreased gradually. At 293 K g/L, reach 96.97% experiment, simultaneously inhibit anodic cathodic reactions solution, followed Langmuir isotherm.

Pyridine and urea derivatives have emerged as valuable corrosion platforms ascribed to exceptional coordination potential, environmental friendliness. Two novel structures of pyridine-carbamides (MS30 & MS31) were synthesized used green inhibitors for the carbon steel in 1M HCl. Electrochemical measurements determined increase efficiency with concentrations, reaching 95.3% 97.1% at 200 mg L −1 298 K MS30 MS31. Despite reduced performance increasing temperature 303 313 K, results revealed improved inhibition 323 K. At highest MS31 proved their influence maintaining 97.6% 93.4% efficiency, highlighting suitability treatments oilfield downhole regions. The adsorption both fitted Langmuir model was attributed chemisorption, inferred from thermodynamics. Corrosion kinetics activation energy also verified chemical interaction Fe–inhibitor complex. Spectroscopic surface evaluation interpreted surpassed metallic dissolution by through protective barrier formation, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) existence Fe–N bond. sustained viability human cells affirmed nontoxic nature after treatment 0.2 mL−1 compounds. DFT calculations that exhibited strong on metal (− 9.5 eV), classified chemisorption. Overall, experimental findings are well supported computational studies. These pioneering compounds introduced herein advance state-of-the-art inhibitors, providing high under challenging environments.
