In this study, in order to solve the problems of resource utilization electrolytic manganese residue and destruction natural resources by over-exploitation raw materials traditional ceramics, (EMR), red mud (RM), waste soil (WS) were used prepare self-foaming expanded ceramsite (SEC), different firing temperatures four groups with mixing ratios these three considered. Water absorption, porosity, heavy metal ion leaching, compressive strength cylinder SEC evaluated. The chemical composition microscopic morphology investigated XRD SEM. mechanism behind reaction among EMR, RM, WS was discussed. results showed that both temperature ratio significantly influenced basic performance SEC. With lower than 1200 °C, sphere appearance could be maintained all groups; however, density, seemed unacceptable. When rose up 1220 only found group whose 2:2.5:0.5. Under condition, excellent observed, a porosity 46.7%, bulk density 0.61 g/cm3, 3 d 26.82 MPa. described: when is 1180 an obvious took place, followed liquid phase being produced gas released decomposition Fe2O3 RM gypsum EMR. viscosity rate generation achieved balance, encapsulated anorthite (CaAl2Si2O8) began grow slowly. As time passed, prepared. study are great significance field artificial lightweight aggregate industrial solid utilization.

The resource utilization of marine-dredged sediment is considered a sustainable approach to its disposal. This paper investigates the preparation non-sintered ceramsites from sediments and CSA cement via cold-bonded pelletization. study examines effects various conditions on engineering properties, phase compositions microstructures ceramsites. results indicate that significantly influence particle size distribution early-strength development prepared remarkable, with PCS achieving approximately 60% 80% 28-day strength within 3 days 7 days, respectively—a marked contrast OPC. Response surface methodology analysis reveals significant interaction between disc rotation angle, rotational speed, duration open-ended porosity exhibits greater sensitivity changes in parameters compared closed-ended total porosity. have negligible impact hydration process For both ellipsoidal plate-like soil particles, ettringite AH3 provide effective pore-filling binding These findings imply low-carbon through offers nature-based solution for management coastal systems.
