Most of our energy consumption proceeds from the use fossil fuels and production natural gas. However, presence impurities in this gas, like CO2, makes treatment necessary to avoid further concerns, such as greenhouse gas emissions, corrosion industrial equipment, etc.; thus, development CO2 capture storage procedures is utmost importance order decrease mitigate its contribution global warming. Among processes available, three separation technologies are being used achieve goal: absorption, adsorption membranes. To overcome some limitations these methodologies, joint with ionic liquids gaining interest. The present work reviewed most recent developments (for 2024) using coupled absorption-, adsorption- or membrane-based processes.
