The rapid urbanization of the Global South has intensified challenges faced by urban slum communities, leaving them particularly vulnerable to socioeconomic shocks. Despite growing attention poverty in these regions, limited research explores how such intertwined with shocks during crises like COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims fill this gap examining experiences residents Bangladesh pandemic through lens social exclusion theory and resilience, focusing on role governmental responses. employed a qualitative approach, incorporating in-depth interviews, key informant focus group discussions, observation methods, thematic analysis achieve its objectives. findings reveal that critically threatened income food security poor. Moreover, found many had leave cities, exclusion, experienced digital divide. Findings highlight significant shortcomings government measures, emphasizing need for stronger safety net programs, public–private partnerships, economic resilience strategies. emphasizes importance building fostering sustainable development addressing multi-dimensional vulnerabilities communities. provides insights into crisis management building, offering evidence-based recommendations mitigating effects enhancing sustainability.

Citizen participation is key in urban planning, but traditional methods are often limited terms of accessibility and inclusion. This study investigates how the use emerging technologies such as Virtual Augmented Reality (VR/AR), Digital Twin (DT), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Geographic Systems (GIS) can enhance citizen planning. Through review analysis existing literature, combined with cases from cities Eurasia North America on implementation these environmental results indicate that multi-reality facilitates immersive visualization projects, allowing citizens to better understand implications proposed changes. Furthermore, integration real-time monitoring, forest climate surveillance, improves control. Technologies like AI GIS also enable greater precision empowerment participatory decision-making. Nevertheless, emergence presents a challenge must be addressed, it essential establish regulatory framework ensure their responsible use. In conclusion, platforms not only increase co-creation more efficient, sustainable, inclusive Greater adoption suggested optimize decision-making process.

Sustainable development of the Smart Cities and Regions concept is impossible without a modern transport infrastructure, which must be maintained in proper condition. Inspections are required to assess condition objects infrastructure (OTI). Moreover, efficiency these inspections can enhanced with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), whose application areas continuously expanding. When inspecting OTI (bridges, highways, etc.) problem improving quality image processing, analysis data collected by UAV, for example, particularly relevant. The advanced methods assessing quantity information making decisions reduce uncertainty redundancy such systems often complicated presence noise there. To harmonize characteristics certain procedures conditions, authors propose conducting processing using wavelet transform clustering three main phases: determining number clusters, defining coordinates cluster centres, clustering. We compared existing one transform. research has shown that UAVs used inspecting; moreover, method characterised an improved processing.
