This study presents a complete and updated checklist of the vascular flora SAC “Bosco di Santo Pietro”, an important natural area located in south-eastern Sicily. Through integrated approach combining field research, analysis historical herbariums literature review, 583 taxa belonging to 78 families 339 genera were identified. A comparison with older floristic list Pietro Forest dating back 1889 highlights some significant changes, such as decrease several hygrophilous nemoral species probably due climate change habitat degradation. In particular, our diachronic reveals disappearance 178 persistence 199 representing 47% 53% 377 listed first inventory, respectively. From Ellenberg indicator two lists, lower values L T higher M N emerge flora, testifying environmental modifications for more than century this Sicilian Mediterranean hotspot.

Given the high number of non-native plants that are being introduced worldwide and time required to process formal pest risk analyses, a framework for prioritization management actions is urgently required. We therefore propose replicable standardized (eradication, control monitoring) invasive plants, combining expert knowledge, current future climatic suitability estimated by species distribution models (SDMs), clustering ordination techniques. Based on consultation using Italy as case study, plant were selected three categories identified: eradication, containment, monitoring. Finally, two further classes priorities proposed each actions: "high" "low" priority. Overall, SDMs highlighted very Continental Mediterranean bioregions most plants. Cluster analysis revealed distinct clusters with varying levels Italian bioregions. 1 exhibited higher across all bioregions, whereas grouped in 2 predominantly featured areas. 3 showed lowest values. Two variability bioclimatic within cluster, well their pattern. Lastly, third ordination, integrating spatial patterns, has allowed differentiation at both national bioregional scales. Specifically, seven earmarked eradication action, six monitoring while remaining deemed suitable containment. Our results methodology meet demand new early warning tools; predict location outbreaks, establish monitor species.

The tradition of floristic studies in Italy has made it possible to obtain a good knowledge plant diversity both on national and regional scale. However, the lack for some areas, advances systematics human activities related globalization, highlight need further aimed at improving knowledge. In this paper, based fieldwork herbaria literature surveys, we update Italian vascular flora analyze similarities between administrative regions. Four taxa, all exotic, were recorded first time Europe. detail, Elaeodendron croceum, Kalanchoë blossfeldiana, Sedum spathulifolium var. found as casual aliens, while Oxalis brasiliensis was reported historical record herbarium specimens. This pattern plants not affected by introduction species. Despite taxonomic methodological issues still open, obtained confirm important role investigations field herbaria, collaborative approach among botanists, order improve European flora.

Abstract An updated checklist of the Calabrian alien vascular flora is presented. By way field, bibliographic, and herbarium research, we recorded 382 taxa (representing almost 14% all regional flora), which 371 are angiosperms, nine gymnosperms, two ferns. In relation to state spread, majority species casual (207 taxa; 54%), followed by naturalized (127; 33%) invasive (48; 13%), these last include four on list Union Concern, sensu Regulation (EU) no. 1143/2014. The most represented families Asteraceae (39 taxa) Poaceae (39). Among genera, Amaranthus (nine taxa), Prunus , Euphorbia Oxalis (seven make up those with greatest number taxa. A total 21 were reported for first time, three them new European ( Camptosema rubicundum, Musa ×paradisiaca and, only continental Europe, Ipomoea hederacea ), Italian peninsula Pelargonium graveolens, Schinus terebinthifolia ) 16 Aeonium arboreum, Asparagus asparagoides, Aspidistra elatior, Bidens sulphurea, Catalpa bignonioides, Citrus ×aurantium, Crassula ovata, Cucurbita ficifolia, Dimorphotheca ecklonis, Graptopetalum paraguayense subsp. paraguayense, Kalanchoë laxiflora, Nicotiana tabacum, Phytolacca dioica Portulaca umbraticola, Talinum paniculatum, Tecomaria capensis ). terms residence status, there 291 neophytes (76%), 73 archaeophytes (19%), 18 aliens (5%); group (45 out 48) among Concerning life forms, abundant groups therophytes (30.1%, 115 phanerophytes (29.6%, 113 taxa). Regarding habitats, 72% occur in artificial (199 taxa, 52%) agricultural habitats (75 20%). native Americas (159; 41.6%), numerous also originated Asia (76; 19.9%) Africa (56; 14.7%). introduced ornamental purposes (55%). Remote Sensing (RS) is a useful tool for detecting and mapping Invasive Alien Plants (IAPs). IAPs on dynamic heterogeneous landscapes, using satellite RS data, not always feasible. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) with ultra-high spatial resolution data represent promising detection mapping. This work develops an operational workflow Acacia saligna invasion along Mediterranean coastal dunes. In particular, it explores tests the potential of RGB (Red, Green, Blue) multispectral (Green, Red, Red Edge, Near Infra—Red) UAV images collected in pre-flowering flowering phenological stages A. saligna. After ortho—mosaics generation, we derived from DSM (Digital Surface Model) HIS (Hue, Intensity, Saturation) variables, calculated NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index). For classifying two built set raster stacks which include different combination variables. image classification, used Geographic Object-Based Image Analysis techniques (GEOBIA) Random Forest (RF) classifier. All classifications information (collected combinations variables) produced maps acceptable accuracy values, higher performances classification period images, especially + combination. The adopted approach resulted efficient method early IAPs, also complex environments offering sound support to prioritization conservation management actions claimed by EU IAS Regulation 1143/2014.
