The rapid development of the residential and industrial sectors produces a huge amount treated domestic wastewater. wastewater is discharged could affect environment in long term. Improving quality for water reclamation would benefit both sectors. This study aims to determine efficiency biofilm-phytoremediation integration process reclaiming A cuboid-shaped reactor was filled with 15 L wastewater, utilizing hyacinth polyethylene carrier as supporting media process. integrated tested two phases: initial adaptation bacteria synthetic (Phase I) biofilm-phytoremediation, based on factors NH3-N concentration hydraulic retention time (HRT), 24 48 h II). In Phase II, pollutant removal observed at varying concentrations: C1 (11–13 mg/L), C2 (9–11 C3 (3–5 mg/L). study’s findings indicate consistent performance first phase, rates COD ranging between 86.7–100.0% 79.0–99.6%, respectively. effectively removed pollutants concentrations NH3-N, average up 100% (COD), 99% (NH3-N), 80% (PO43−). shows finest outcomes non-potable recovery, well offers an alternative resolve scarcity use various

Several agro-waste materials have been utilized for sustainable engineering and environmental application over the past decades, showing different degrees of effectiveness. However, information concerning wider use palm oil clinker (POC) its performance is still lacking. Therefore, as a solid waste byproduct produced in one processing stages, generating huge quantity mostly dumped into landfill, waste-to-resource potential POC should be thoroughly discussed review. Thus, this paper provides systematic review current research articles on several advances made from 2005 to 2021 regarding physical properties performances, with particular emphasis their commitments cost savings during applications. The begins by identifying conventional geopolymer structural elements such beams, slabs, columns concrete, mortar, or paste coarse aggregates, sand, cement replacement. Aspects wastewater treatment processes, fine aggregate replacement asphaltic bituminous mixtures highway construction, bio-filler coatings steel manufacturing catalyst energy generation are also discussed. This further describes effectiveness soil stabilization effect pretreatment enhancement. present can inspire researchers find gaps that will aid agroindustry wastes. fundamental knowledge contained serve wake-up call motivate them explore high utilizing greater benefits associated less when compared materials.

Municipal landfill leachates are a source of toxic heavy metals that have been shown to detrimental effect on human health and the environment. This study aimed assess metal contamination in leachates, surface water, sediments from non-sanitary landfills Uyo, Nigeria, identify potential environmental effects leachate contamination. Over wet dry seasons, water sediment samples were collected an impacted freshwater ecosystem, six monitoring wells. Elemental analyses conducted following standard analytical procedures methods. The results indicated leachate, all had elevated levels metals, implying significant impact landfills. Pollution indices such as ecological risk index (PERI), pollution load (PLI), degree ( Cd ), modified mCd enrichment factor (EF), geoaccumulation Igeo Nemerov (NPI) used impacts leachates. values derived: PERI (29.09), PLI (1.96E-07), (0.13), (0.16), EF (0.97–1.79E-03), (0), NPI (0.74). indicators suggested low moderately polluted by chemical contaminants landfills, may pose negative risks due bioaccumulation. Bioenergy production from waste is one of the emerging and viable routes renewable resources (in addition to wind solar energy). Many developing countries can benefit this as they are trying solve large amounts unattended garbage in landfills. This comes either liquid (wastewater oil) or solid (food agricultural residues) form. Waste has negative impacts on environment and, consequently, any form life that exists therein. One way solving issue through its usage a resource for producing valuable products, such biofuels, thus, creating circular economy, which line with United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 5, 7, 8, 9, 13. Biofuel biogas be produced feedstocks, industrial wastewater municipal effluent, well organic process called anaerobic digestion. The feedstock used an individual substrate digestion co-digested two other substrates. Research advancements have shown more substrates produces higher yields compared their single substrates’ counterparts. objective review was look at provide information potential co-digestion sugarcane processing waste. study deduced sugar considered good SA due enormous availability turn into value addition. Biogas feasible alternative, among others, boost country current energy issues.
