Abstract Digital transformation, board characteristics, and environmental performance are increasingly important in the field of corporate sustainability. However, despite growing literature on digital there is a paucity that considers characteristics. This paper aims to fill this gap by exploring relationship between transformation from perspective Chinese listed companies 2010 2019 were taken as original data, moderating effect characteristics was tested using model. We find can significantly improve performance. A low willingness showed directors with age diversity, nationality shareholding concentration, political connections. In contrast, strategies preferred boards more female higher educational backgrounds. Our study significant value for undergoing transformation.

The global industrial chain and energy supply are being reconfigured at an accelerated pace, the uncertainty of China’s security is growing significantly. Empowering chains through digital economy (diec) has a positive effect on accelerating transformation structure. This paper discusses mechanisms efficiency (esce). Specifically, based panel data 112 enterprises in China from 2011 to 2019, enterprise level were evaluated three-stage DEA content analysis, respectively. A two-way fixed effects model mediation mode adopted investigate nexus diec esce. results show that improves efficiency, conclusion holds water even after series robustness tests endogenous treatment. Meanwhile, its promotion more significant among large enterprises, non-state high market-oriented regions. main impact regional agglomeration technological innovation enterprises. Based above conclusions, it suggested take advantage aggregation further improve for purpose maintaining security.
