Bioaugmentation is widely used in soil bioremediation, wastewater treatment, and air biofiltration. The addition of microbial biomass to contaminated areas can considerably improve their biodegradation performance. Nevertheless, analyses large data sets on the topic available literature do not provide a comprehensive view mechanisms responsible for inoculum-assisted stimulation. On one hand, there no universal mechanism bioaugmentation broad spectrum environmental conditions, contaminants, technology operation concepts. other further outcomes under laboratory conditions field will strengthen theoretical basis better prediction bioremediation processes certain conditions. This review focuses following aspects: (i) choosing source microorganisms isolation procedure; (ii) preparation inoculum, e.g., cultivation single strains or consortia, adaptation; (iii) application immobilised cells; (iv) schemes soil, water bodies, bioreactors, hydroponics; (v) succession biodiversity. Reviews recent scientific papers dating mostly from 2022-2023, as well our own long-term studies, are provided here.

Achieving renewable clean energy to meet increasing global demand and counter overreliance on depleting unsustainable sources has recently drawn significant research interest. Similarly, attain the sustainable development goals (SDGs) "zero hunger" agenda, massive agricultural/food productions are embarked on, leading increased agro-food waste (AFW) generation with enormous handling costs evade its contribution environmental pollution. The advent of biorefineries fostered a healthy balance for tackling challenges from AFW – thereby promoting circular bioeconomy (CBE). Integrating several emerging microbial/enzymatic bioconversion processes facilitated overall increase in process efficiency. This review, therefore, provides extensive information ecological impacts AFW, as well biorefinery sustainability. We also critically reviewed advances integrated engineering valorization. Finally, limitations prospects real-life application these recent approaches were suggested.

There is no doubt that several soil remediation methods have been applied in removing oil contaminants the soil. Selecting an appropriate method critical for effective cleanup of a contaminated site. The aim this study to review field studies determine their effectiveness cleaning soils. A systematic search literature was conducted different databases extract mainly studies, few pilot and greenhouse experiments. One grey (conference paper) also selected. Studies selected were published between 2000 2021, 51 literatures chosen review. application on revealed combined has high removal efficiency, short duration, moderate cost, low environmental impact. Followed by biological which considered green cheap method. While chemical reported as least method, concerns exist over negative impact, cost. Similarly, physical showed resulting from energy consumption most technologies under need further treatment gases produced during remediation. Therefore,

Seawater desalination has become a vital technology to address water demand in many coastal countries, its safe and efficient operation crucial concern. Desalination facilities are susceptible the quality of feed water, which is affected by several variables, such as raw seawater quality, intake methods, onshore pretreatment technologies. Oil gas continue be major commodities that produced transported globally. There high risk oil spills. Historically, severe plant shutdowns have happened because Current spill response measures were developed mitigate impact spills on maritime environment rather than prevent shutdown. The drinking storage for countries Gulf region last only few days, underscores importance use all available technologies remove contaminants rapidly effectively from during avoid exhausting limited stock. This article comprehensively reviewed applicability limitation various oil-removing three aspects: offshore cleanup, intake, pretreatment. An integrated solution based aspects required robustly safeguard shutdown event
