Abstract Environmental degradation, which is seen as the most critical obstacle to sustainable development, addressed by SDGs 7, 11, and 13. The Kyoto Protocol first international agreement solve problem of environmental degradation. purpose this research examine role Annex II nations in promoting sustainability, particularly those that have adopted obligations under Protocol. study tests load capacity curve hypothesis for countries during 1994–2018 period. To begin with, we applied some priori panel data analysis utilized appropriate methods based on results. Unit root, cointegration, long‐run estimators were employed. findings confirmed a relationship model. In end, two different estimators, namely cross‐sectional ARDL augmented mean group estimator, used test validity hypothesis. found while did not hold true all countries, it was only valid Finland. This suggests are adequately contributing achievement targets.

This research examined consumption-based carbon emission reduction by nuclear energy consumption and environmental tax while considering the context of trade globalization in highest five emitter nations from 1990 to 2020. study used various empirical methodologies, including preliminary analysis check stationarity cointegration, CS-ARDL for long-run analysis, CCEMG, AMG robustness, DH causality test short-term pairwise causation. The results indicated that consumption, tax, help mitigate emissions economic growth population density boost emissions. Furthermore, also found two-way casual connection exists between density, Thus, emphasize need government policies encourage as a strategy reduce achieve maintain development.

Energy & Environment, Journal Year: 2024, Volume and Issue: unknown

Published: Jan. 30, 2024

An important part of environmental pollution has resulted in energy consumption, the level varies across sectors, and R&D investments have been strategic tools this respect. Considering fact, research studies role on CO 2 emissions by focusing USA case as pioneering investing country technologies. In context, study makes a disaggregated analysis performs various nonlinear methods to data between 1975/Q1 2020/Q4. The empirical results demonstrate that (i) strong dependency sectoral times frequencies; (ii) at higher quantiles, nuclear generally declining impact power building sector emissions, whereas renewable stimulate emissions; (iii) are causally effective quantiles; (iv) total curb emissions. demonstrates varying heterogonous based time, frequency, quantile, types. Thus, policymakers should include types, sector-based differentiating impacts re-formulating policy framework critical issue for ensuring sustainable development. Accordingly, policies (e.g. relying investments, re-balance distribution among alternatives, consideration differences) discussed.

Abstract This study constructs a proposed model to investigate the link between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) disclosures ESG scores for publicly traded companies in Borsa Istanbul Sustainability (XUSRD) index. In this context, considers 66 companies, examining recently structured 2022 that were published first time as novel data applying multilayer perceptron (MLP) artificial neural network algorithm. The relevant results are fourfold. (1) MLP algorithm has explanatory power (i.e., R 2 ) of 79% estimating companies’ scores. (2) Common, environment, pillars have respective weights 21.04%, 44.87%, 30.34%, 3.74% total (3) absolute relative significance each reporting principle varies. (4) According significance, most effective is common principle, followed by social environmental principles, whereas principles less significance. Overall, demonstrate linear approach complete deficient inefficient increasing scores; instead, should focus on highest findings contribute literature defining significant stimulating XUSRD

This study employs econometric models and cross-case analysis to investigate the impact mechanism of public procurement (PP) on enterprises' green innovation (EGI). Based manual identification government customers, we conduct panel model estimations Chinese listed company data from 2010 2021. Findings reveal that PP has a effect at micro level. Moreover, expected market returns, corporate social responsibility (CSR), financing constraints play mediating role between EGI. Additionally, delved into relationship EGI through study. It not only validates conclusions drawn but also summarises heterogeneous characteristics affecting in practice. contributes existing literature outcomes factors impacting furnishes additional empirical insights mechanisms which enhances
