Abstract Microplastics (MPs), as an environmental contaminant, pose a significant risk to both animal and human health through the food water supply chains. Honey, widely recognised safe health‐oriented product, may become compromised if its production process involves non‐biodegradable MPs. This study was conducted systematic review, using comprehensive searches of PubMed, Scopus ScienceDirect investigate effects MP on honey bee health, potential route main species composition contamination in honey. review highlights impacts MPs including mortality, sucrose response, habituation, olfactory learning, memory recall, colony performance, body size growth, gut microbiota viral infection. From mechanistic perspective, can disrupt equilibrium microbiota, adversely impact function immune system, undermine neural signalling pathways that are critical for learning processes bees. It is crucial consider applied aspects these findings beekeeping practices, adopting sustainable practices mitigate exposure minimize production. By identifying key detrimental microplastics (MPs) quality, research provides actionable insights beekeepers adopt management minimise exposure. Additionally, underscores need regulatory policies control pollution, ensuring safety product protecting pollinators health.

Although plastic has many desirable properties and numerous social benefits, it is a serious ecological problem due to massive application difficult decomposing. Various environmental anthropogenic impacts indicate that breaks down into small particles are ubiquitous in the environment. Microplastics (MPs) detected oceans seas, freshwater, wastewater, glaciers, soils, air, sediments, precipitation, plants, animals, humans, food drinking water worldwide. Traces of MPs have been found even remote sparsely populated areas, indicating far-reaching movement through compartments. Inadequate waste management wastewater treatment considered major source MP pollution. persistent contaminants can adversely affect balance environment may damage health living organisms, including humans. This review emphasizes current global problems It covers different areas MPs, which include basic characteristics, interactions with other pollutants, occurrence environment, toxic effects on sampling, sample pre-treatment analytical methodology for identification quantification matrices as well potential reduction remediation strategies possibilities effective control interesting useful previously published knowledge collected this serve valuable foundation further research.
