The combined application of biochar and fertilizer has become increasingly popular for improving soil quality crop productivity. However, the reported research results regarding effects on properties productivity have contradictory findings, indicating requirement further scientific research. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate a water hyacinth (WHB) NPS physicochemical wheat yield under deficit irrigation conditions in acidic silty loam Ethiopia. Four different rates (0, 5, 10, 20 t ha−1), three 100, 200 kg two regimes (50 100% requirement) were evaluated assess yields. showed that amendment significantly reduced bulk density by 15.1–16.7%, improved porosity 6.8–8.6% moisture content 10.3–20.2%. Additionally, pH (0.26–0.87 units), NH4+–N (73.7–144%), NO3−–N (131–637%), available phosphorus (85.8–427%), compared alone. As result, dry biomass grain increased 260 173%, respectively. Furthermore, WHB resulted comparable even with 50% reduction water. significant potential improve when it is applied combination fertilizer, can reduce production.

Soil amendments combined with low cadmium (Cd)-accumulating crops are commonly used for remediating Cd contamination and ensuring food safety. However, the effects of soil cultivation faba beans (Vicia L.)—known their high nutritional quality accumulation—in moderately Cd-contaminated soils remain underexplored. This study investigates impact a amendment (SA) on agronomic traits, seed nutrition, accumulation in 11 bean genotypes grown acidic (1.3 mg·kg−1 Cd, pH 5.39). The SA treatment increased to 6.0 (an 11.31% increase) reduced DTPA-Cd by 37.1%. Although average yield decreased marginally 8.74%, it remained within 10% national permissible limit. Notably, concentration seeds 60% significantly mitigated Mn Al toxicity. Additionally, enhanced levels essential macronutrients (Ca, Mg, P, S) micronutrients (Mo, Cu) while lowering Phytate (Phy)/Ca, Phy/Mg, Phy/P ratios, thus improving mineral nutrient bioavailability. Among genotypes, F3, F5, F6 showed most favorable balance quality, following application. provides valuable insights into effectiveness fortification mitigation farmland.

Sewage sludge biochar (SSB) is an innovative environmental material with remediation capabilities and significant potential for soil enhancement. This study aimed to accurately assess the dual regulatory effects of SSB on plant growth quality. We conducted potting experiments ryegrass cosmos analyze impacts growth, quality, microbial communities. The partial least squares path model (PLS-PM) analysis was employed elucidate intrinsic relationships between application factors, communities, growth. results indicated that significantly enhanced cosmos, improved increased quantity beneficial bacteria in inter-root addition 9% 3% (w w−1) resulted most substantial aboveground biomass increasing 68.97% 68.12%, respectively, root by 49.87% 45.14%. PLS revealed had a effect number bacteria, which also played important role factors such as pH conductivity. provides scientific basis utilization resources, green agriculture, improvement. Additionally, it offers technical support optimizing strategy biochar.

Phosphogypsum (PG), phosphate sludge (PS), and sewage (SS) are regarded by-products produced in huge amounts. However, PG, PS SS no longer considered as waste, but valued resources accordance with the circular economy's rules. Their management provides a serious environmental problem. In order to assess impacts of SS, PS, PG on soil physico-chemical parameters (pH, EC, OM, nutrients, heavy metals) response diverse experimental settings, purpose current study was conduct meta-analysis previously published results. The VOSviewer program used construct bibliometric maps using VOS mapping grouping techniques. findings indicated that there were statistically significant changes (P < 0.05) electrical conductivity (EC), organic matter (OM), pH connection different employed. application considerably elevated by 46.15% compared control. Furthermore, beneficial effect P K detected, regardless by-product used. Moreover, Cd, Pb, Ni concentrations treatments had substantial reduction 30.46%, 30.70%, 18.07%, respectively. Cu revealed decrease 47.71%, 36.14%, 46.01%, Based acquired data, need be regularly monitored regulated. This serves an early investigation for construction new approach restore damaged land mine sites employing industry revegetation objectives.
