With the acceleration of urbanization and industrialization, land-use mode in mountainous areas has changed significantly, causing serious ecological destruction. Therefore, improving efficiency land-resource use enhancing protection are important issues. This study focuses on typical Guizhou Province to explore their significance not only for restoration but also sustainable socioeconomic development. In this study, we integrated framework interaction between transitions landscape patterns employed Spearman's rank correlation coefficient a spatial bivariate model reveal spatiotemporal heterogeneity transitions. The results showed that 1990–2020, cultivated, forest, grassland decreased by −1353.66, −749.98 − 541.72 km2 respectively, whereas water area, urban, other construction land increased 799.69, 542.62, 1230.90 km2, respectively. Moreover, cultivated converted into urban were 358.03 661.77 forest 3550.08 277.32 Different presented rapid expansion contraction characteristics, resulting an increase overall patch fragmentation, decrease uniformity, irregular patches, which enhanced diversity complexity. Finally, transition effects primarily elevation, slope, primary road facility factors. In-depth research transitional evolution its impact theoretical practical value formulating land-management policies promoting development areas.

In recent years, rapid economic development, increasing human activities, and global climate change have led to escalating demands for land across production, residential, ecological domains. This surge has heightened use conflicts, significantly impacting sustainable utilization regional development. Drawing upon the “Production–Ecological–Living Space” (PELS) theory, this study employs a Patch-generating Land Use Simulation (PLUS) model project PELS of Harbin–Changchun Urban Agglomeration (HCUA) under four scenarios 2030. Introducing concepts absolute relative conflicts in use, utilizes spatial comprehensive conflict index (SCCI) assess progression from 2000 2020 various 2030, while remote sensing (RSEI) is utilized evaluate evolution 2020. The results indicate following: (1) From different HCUA dominated by forest space (E1) agricultural production (P1), with no substantial alterations overall distribution PELS. (2) Absolute between are mainly concentrated plains western regions, characterized arising encroachment living on space; however, declined annually, accompanied notable enhancement quality. (3) pattern 2030 exhibits minimal variation, illustrating higher values regions compared eastern parts, surpassing showing than mountains. Notably, development (ED) scenario most intense areas high prevailing, whereas goals (SDGs) depicts enhancements maintaining equilibrium requirements. research offers valuable insights into mitigating HCUA, provides new perspective studying changes serves as scientific reference

Abstract Optimizing the spatial layout of national territory is crucial for realizing transformation and development resource-oriented cities in context high-quality new period. This paper takes Tongling City as a case study, based on analysis historical foundation, then uses SD-FLUS comprehensive model to carry out systematic five dimensions economy, society, population, science technology, resources environment, discusses optimization pattern under contextual simulation. The conclusions are follows: ① hierarchical framework “system-indicator-element” not only internally interconnected, but also inextricably linked with relationship between various categories land use system. ② Decrease cropland, forest, water, grassland, barren decreases from economic development, social progress, there small increase area scenario resource environmental protection, direction change impervious opposite direction. ③ Cultivated retained situ concentrated extent, forested reduced extent while status quo maintained, Yangtze River water system will be protected large part waters Zongyang County give way expansion construction objectives county. Building expanded extended northeast original site area, southwest corner county center some promote county’s development.

Farmland loss in drastically urbanizing landscapes has long been a research concern for resource management, landscape planning, and spatial governance, especially the context of China. In recent years, issue urbanization-associated farmland (UAFL) seems to be increasingly recognized as relevant sustainability. To date, however, existing studies have not yet comprehensively addressed gap between UAFL Here, we aim help fill this knowledge by considering an example broader land/landscape-related literature, hope informing future better advance sustainability through land-related approaches. Specifically, combined bibliometric analyses with code-based content analysis reveal base, thematic evolution, historiographic paths literature on across China empirical case studies’ relevance Our main findings include: (1) examined barely draws insights from science only started arise notable topic at around 2016; (2) over half show awareness advancing interest understanding social-environmental drivers processes underlying dynamics, few demonstrate methodological transdisciplinarity; (3) those sustainability-relevant either frame depletion that may threat China’s food security consequently hinder sustainable urbanization or part widespread dynamics affect environmental outcome(s) social–environmental tradeoffs multi-functions; (4) are disproportionately focused 1991–2006, national, regional, city scales, some most developed areas. provide overview specific avenue and, more importantly, point imperative land/landscape scholars break out their disciplinary silos, natural sciences, generate actionable insights.
