Anaerobic digestion (AD), or biogas technology, is an optimal method for municipal organic waste (MOW) treatment, recovering both material and energy. This study takes a life cycle assessment perspective examines the economic environmental impacts of BIO facility in Minamisanriku Town, Japan, which has utilized MOW (kitchen/food surplus sludge from sewage) as local biomass resources since 2012. Stakeholder interviews were conducted to gather data on flows impacts. Scenario analysis considered various conditions, such pre- post-operation facility, use non-use digestate liquid fertilizer, facility’s 100% operational efficiency. The results indicate that full operation marketing value-added products, branded rice grown using could significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, lower integrated costs, improve regional economy, increase net income. In business usual (BAU) scenario with 56% rate there over 10% improvement compared pre-operation baseline. underscores importance maximizing utilization develop uses by enhancing, extending, expending stakeholder collaboration.

This research undertakes a bibliometric examination of the existing literature addressing relationship between poverty and sustainability development, summarising available studies. Using relevant keywords, we identified 920 peer-reviewed articles from Scopus database, spanning period 2015 to 2024. Employing Visualisation Similarity Viewer (VOSviewer) for this analysis, categorised prominent publications, noteworthy journals, contributing institutions. Furthermore, our review uncovered clear pattern in research, suggesting lack recognition regarding impact sustainable development on reducing levels countries Global South. In terms contributions, study delineates five primary thematic clusters that elucidate ways which reduces poverty. Through application text-mining establishes connections specific environmental recent surge global

ABSTRACT Electrochemical pretreatment and anaerobic digestion (AD), as well a combination of both processes, were studied for the treatment waste-activated sludge (WAS) to evaluate microbial inactivation, faecal coliforms, Salmonella spp., bacteriophages, helminth eggs. Electrooxidation (EO) WAS was performed in commercial cell with boron-doped diamond electrodes. 1 L (3% total solids) fed electrochemical recirculation mode. The conditions tested 19.3 mA/cm2, 30 min, 3.8 L/min. For AD tests, raw pretreated digested an OxiTop® OC 110 apparatus 15 days. Inactivation bacteriophages reached more than 5 logs when EO combined AD. In contrast, alone did not inactivate these parameters, while achieved eliminations around 3 logs. Moreover, process inactivated 91% initial viable eggs, considerably higher (29%) (0%). results suggest that separates extracellular polymeric substances segregates particles, including microorganisms, are exposed environmental factors (e.g., volatile fatty acids or ammonia) during AD, showing synergistic effect.
