Carbon dioxide capture and storage (CCS) technology is considered a crucial tactic for achieving the “dual carbon” goals. However, current CCS technologies face several challenges, such as absence of comprehensive systematic set criteria site selection, coupled with lack universally applicable evaluation framework. To address these issues, this study proposes regional-scale CO 2 geological suitability assessment potential estimation framework that can be adapted to similar regions. Using Yellow River Delta case study, selection indicator system was developed, model assessing constructed. The employed evaluate appropriateness sequestration sites within region, numerical simulations were performed utilizing TOUGH2/ECO2N simulator prospective target zones. This research examines migration dynamics in saline aquifers, progression mechanisms, carbon capacity various configurations. The addresses key questions as: How optimal area selected? best strategy matching determined? distribution characteristics after simulated? Are there risks future?
