Abstract A common and comprehensive framework that clarifies the choice of a reverse logistics (RL) strategy is still unavailable in extant literature. Such complete for RL decision‐making has potential to offer insights strategies, particularly this era where closed‐loop supply chain gaining traction research practice. Thus, study seeks identify strategies based on systematic literature review industry consultation. The used approach analyse articles collected mostly from Scopus database. outcome framework, referred as “Returned Product‐Process Matrix” (RPPM), offers holistic view which can serve decision‐support system practitioners choosing appropriate strategy. To best researchers' knowledge, RPPM first attempt at comprehensively structuring clarifying green operations.

The inherent unpredictability within the low-carbon integrated supply chain logistics network complicates its management. This paper endeavours to address challenge of designing a context uncertainty and with consideration policies. It also identify locations facilities appropriate transportation routes between nodes. Robust optimisation fuzzy programming techniques are employed examine various attributes network. In addition, strategic planning model multi-level forward/reverse integration is examined, aims cost minimisation emission reduction. Extensive computational simulations substantiate efficacy proposed robust model. Moreover, analytical results indicate rationality applicability decisions suggested by solution approach. Furthermore, that decision maker can ascertain derived from three cases considered have 50% probability being most favourable outcomes.

As a famous population-based metaheuristic algorithm, genetic algorithm can be used to overcome optimization complexities. A adopts probabilistic transition rules and is suitable for parallelism, which makes this attractive in many areas, including the logistics supply chain sector. To obtain comprehensive understanding of development area, paper presents bibliometric analysis on application chains using data from 1991 2024 Web Science database. The authors found growing trend number publications citations over years. This serves as an important reference researchers by highlighting research such multi-objective optimization, metaheuristics, sustainability issues logistics, machine learning integration. also underlines importance Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II), sustainability, learning, variable neighborhood search near future. integration with potential gap filled limitations algorithms, long computational time, difficulties obtaining optimal solutions, convergence chains.

Food Supply Chains (FSCs) have become increasingly complex with the average distance between producers and consumers rising considerably in past two decades. Consequently, FSCs are a major source of carbon emissions reducing transportation costs challenge for businesses. To address this, we present mathematical model to promote three core dimensions sustainability (economic, environmental, social), based on Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) method. The addresses environmental dimension by intending decrease different transport modes involved logistics network. Several supply chain network characteristics incorporated evaluated, consideration social (job generation from operating various facilities). model's robustness is demonstrated testing deploying it variety problem instances. A real-life case study (Norwegian salmon chain) helps comprehend applicability. understand importance optimizing food networks holistically, paper investigates impact multiple permutations total cost, demand fluctuations emissions. retail demand, undertook sensitivity analysis variations enabling proposed revamp Norway's Subsequently, results thoroughly examined identify managerial implications.
