In densely populated cities, people confront multiple impacts of climate change, including stormwater runoff, flooding, heat waves, and health issues. To address these impacts, nature-based solutions (NbS) have gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential contribute sustainability, resilience, ecosystem services. Nevertheless, more research is required understand the wider NbS identify priority areas for deployment. This study developed an analytical approach implemented it Tehran Metropolitan Area (TMA) by considering factors related co-benefits. The included spatial prioritization, correlation analysis, suitability analysis. It combines a Geographic Information System, Integrated Valuation Ecosystem Services Trade-offs (InVEST) model, Zonation, Best-Worst Method, Bivariate Local Indicator Spatial Autocorrelation analysis (BiLISA), Fuzzy Inference Boolean overlay results include maps showing different types co-benefits mismatches. High-priority are located disadvantaged areas. total, 105.73 km2 (17% TMA) was designated as highly prioritized. We show that various interventions applicable, with green roofs rainwater harvesting being most feasible. can assist decision-makers optimizing deliver maximum

The increasing challenges of urbanization and climate change have driven the need for innovative stormwater management solutions. Rain gardens, as a nature-based solution (NBS), emerged critical component in urban water management, particularly enhancing hydrological regulation, quality, ecosystem services. This bibliometric review examines application rain gardens environments, focusing on their roles pollutant removal, ecological enhancement. Data from 728 academic papers published between 2000 2023 were analyzed using Web Science (WoS) Core Collection, employing tools such “Bibliometrix” R package CiteSpace. analysis highlights global interest since 2015, with China United States leading research efforts. Key findings reveal that significantly reduce runoff, improve contribute to biodiversity. In addition, integration into public spaces offers landscape esthetics social benefits, quality life areas. However, remain optimizing design diverse climates long-term performance. study underscores further plant–soil interactions, removal mechanisms, broader contributions gardens. provides insights evolution garden identifies future directions advancing sustainable management.
