ABSTRACT In the Bordeaux region, climate change has a very significant impact on wine production, with an increase in vineyard area, but decrease yield and income. We use Ricardian approach to assess magnitude of these changes. combine detailed individual, structural financial data at farm level weather measure vineyards. Econometric models highlight important role high temperatures rainfall reducing yields during growing season. Farmers respond phenomena through combination strategies: increasing prioritising operational expenditure over long‐term investment strategies using adaptive risk management techniques such as irrigation crop insurance. These results suggest that producers are effectively adapting its adverse effects income volatility. Moreover, differentiated according value quality production.
