The sustainable renewal of old communities is a key approach to improving residents’ quality life and optimizing urban stock space. However, the research on effectiveness initiatives, particularly regarding resident satisfaction, remains insufficient. This study aimed develop structured by constructing development framework with 28 indicators across five aspects—traffic space, leisure green sense belonging, comfort—to evaluate satisfaction both physical spiritual dimensions. Utilizing IPA–Kano method, revised IPA quadrant diagram was generated guide optimization efforts. conducted an extensive survey 16 in Chengdu, China, identify patterns challenges. Based these insights, four representative projects were selected as case studies. revealed that evaluation categorized into 12 necessary needs expectation needs. Furthermore, community Chengdu place notably greater emphasis dimension. Specifically, scores for 14 indicators—11 related material dimension 3 dimension—were found be below average score 3.28. Targeted strategies are proposed indicators. method offers valuable insights references future designs contributes transformation spaces China.

Abstract Green spaces are vital for the urban ecosystem, providing residents with diverse ecosystem services. However, heterogeneity in spatial locations and landscape configurations, caused variousness of services quality green spaces. Previous studies mainly examined equity based on quantitative factors like distance scale. service space remains unclear. We studied 226 park spaces(UPGS) Hangzhou constructed Ecosystem Service Quality Index (ESQI) to evaluate regional analyze driving by Gini coefficient Lorenz curve. Results showed that (1) 77.43% parks had moderately low ESQIs (0.100–0.230), spatially heterogeneous distribution. (2) There was a high degree unfairness regarding area, number points interest facilities, proportion water bodies, effective grid patches, total edge length. (3) Heterogeneity distribution internal patterns UPGSs significant quality. (4) The main influencing consisted natural factors(green cover impervious cove) location factors(Park Cooling Index). characteristics cannot reflect level Urban ecological construction should not simply focus increasing quantity, rather it is more crucial improve UPGS.
