Island ecosystems are vulnerable, as natural disasters and inappropriate anthropogenic activities can easily disrupt the ecological balance, posing significant challenges to delivery of ecosystem services. In order evaluate service functions Zhoushan Archipelago, based on InVEST model, four services water conservation, carbon storage, habitat quality, soil conservation in Archipelago 2017, 2020, 2023 were estimated, spatial pattern comprehensive function was determined by principal component analysis. The results showed following: (1) distribution values show same trend, with high distributed central areas Island, Changtu Taotao Qushan low coastal Yangshan Yushan Island; (2) land use types have a effect Trees, built areas, rangeland, cropland primary contributors these services; (3) from 2017 2023, highly important extremely decreasing trend. accounted for 17.29% 2.33% total area, which maintaining virtuous cycle ecosystem. This study provides scientific basis sustainable development island.

Ecosystem service value (ESV) reflects ecosystem functions and benefits; however, the factors influencing ESV mechanisms driving it in wetlands non-wetlands are not yet fully understood. The Yellow River Delta (YRD) is distinguished by presence of numerous wetland areas that both Reserve non-Reserve thus was selected as designated study area. In this study, spatiotemporal structures YRD between 2000 2020 were studied using land cover change analysis equivalent factor methodology. addition, we analyzed drivers behind geographical variability applying Geographical Detector method. results showed structure National Nature relatively stable, whereas area exhibited greater fluctuations; is, decreased 11.43% compared with more stable areas, where 4.93%. Furthermore, disparities distribution use types gave rise to a discernible spatial overall ESV, northeast exhibiting significantly higher levels southwest. Additionally, past two decades, center gravity regions has shifted towards urban centers, have migrated coastline. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index identified main driver heterogeneity. findings highly relevant regional ecological conservation promotion economic social development.

Traditional urban expansion struggles to balance economic and ecological demands. Intensive development planning based on re-naturalization has become the policymakers’ choice. However, planning-oriented land use patterns pathways remain difficult determine. This study developed a spatial decision-support framework integrating ecosystem service valuation (ESV), land-use simulation, for Shanghai. assessed spatiotemporal dynamics of ESV simulated 2035 under different scenarios (inertial development, cropland protection, development). The optimal scenario corresponding were determined principle ESV. results showed that declined over past 20 years (−5.21%/5 years). High-value areas shrank significantly due space degradation. is scenario, with highest CNY 189,240.29 million, which higher than status quo, inertia protection by 9.69%, 23.27%, 9.53%, respectively. Taking as objective, 12 totaling 686.88 km2 identified. Cropland forestland built-up largest, accounting 67.88% 15.02%, provides valuable insights into in urbanized areas.
