In the context of global energy transition and climate change, system resilience has become critical for countries worldwide. While green digital infrastructure—emerging from integration digitalization low-carbon development—shows theoretical potential to strengthen resilience, empirical evidence remains limited. This study utilizes China’s 2015 Green Data Center Pilot Policy as a quasi-natural experiment examine this relationship through comprehensive panel data 30 Chinese provinces spanning 2011–2021. We developed an integrated evaluation framework across four dimensions: economic engineering resource ecological applying CRITIC method determine objective indicator weights. Our difference-in-differences analysis demonstrates that infrastructure significantly enhances regional with pilot regions experiencing 2.83% improvement compared non-pilot areas. impact shows heterogeneity, stronger effects in economically areas better foundations. identify two primary mechanisms which influences resilience: industrial structure optimization (particularly service industry growth) enhanced innovation capacity. These findings provide robust support infrastructure’s role strengthening stability adaptability, offering valuable policy insights promoting both under governance.
