Rhenium
(Re)
is
an
extremely
rare
element,
with
a
crustal
abundance
of
approximately
0.4
parts
per
billion
(ppb)
and
sea
water
concentration
8.3
trillion
(ppt).
However,
Re
concentrations
in
anoxic
marine
sediments
range
from
2
to
184
ppb,
which
attributed
reduction
the
highly
soluble
perrhenate
ion
(Re(VII)O4−)
insoluble
Re(IV)
species.
Anoxic
typically
contain
Fe(II)
sulfide
species,
could
potentially
reduce
Re(VII)
Re(IV).
In
this
study,
we
examined
interactions
KReO4
magnetite
(Fe3O4),
siderite
(FeCO3),
vivianite
(Fe3(PO4)2•8H2O),
green
rust
(mixed
Fe(II)/Fe(III)
layered
double
hydroxide),
mackinawite
(FeS),
chemically
reduced
nontronite
(NAu-1)
using
X-ray
absorption
near-edge
structure
(XANES)
extended
fine
(EXAFS)
spectroscopy
determine
valence
state
speciation
Re.
Uptake
by
was
rapid,
~50%
associated
solids
within
days.
contrast,
there
<10%
uptake
other
phases
over
48
Reduction
only
observed
presence
rust,
producing
clusters
bidentate-coordinated
Re(IV)O6
octahedra..
These
results
suggest
that
except
for
potential
Fe(II)-bearing
minerals
act
as
reductants

sedimentary
environments

investigation.

There
is
a
significantly
growing
interest
in
diagnostic
and
therapeutic
radiopharmaceuticals,
it
foreseeable
that
an
unprecedented
number
of
patients
will
need
to
be
treated
with
new
nuclear
medicine
therapies.
This
predicted
increase
have
potentially
significant
environmental
impacts.
In
this
discussion,
we
show
different
areas
impact,
as
well
possible
measures
reduce
such
impact.
These
may
impact
from
the
entire
supply
chain,
starting
at
production
site
medical
isotopes,
energy
needed
for
production,
transportation,
adaption
injected
amounts
radiopharmaceuticals
clinical
use.
Furthermore,
arguments
local
versus
centralized
increasing
or
decreasing
procedures
other
greenhouse
gas–emitting
imaging
tests,
radiopharmaceutical
waste
handling
implications,
are
summarized
weighed
against
current
status.
Overall,
summary
hopefully
serves
basis
further
discussion
community,
increases
awareness
exciting
field,
even
lead
implementation
measures.

Abstract
The
study
investigated
the
adsorption
behaviour
of
different
activated
carbon
samples
for
pertechnetate
under
diverse
conditions.
Characterizations
A-CF-F
and
A-CF-Z
were

using
BET,
FTIR,
XRD,
XRF
SEM–EDX
methods.
In
batch
experiments,
maximum
occured
at
pH

with

swift
