Background: Yeokwisan (YWS) is a standardised herbal formula for relieving functional dyspepsia symptoms. Methods: We explored the therapeutic value of YWS and its potential effects on gastritis. Its inhibitory effect gastric mucosal damage anti-inflammatory activity in animal models alcohol- restraint stress-induced gastritis were also examined. Gastric tissues ICR mice treated with (150 300 mg/kg) or famotidine (5 10 days collected, lesions quantified. The stomachs C57BL/6 23 Blood samples analysed inflammation related factors gastroprotective effects. Results: (300 inhibited by 42.33% EtOH-induced model 75% (compared to control group). Pretreatment led decreased levels inflammatory (IL-1β, IL-6, COX-2). showed through histamine downregulation, while prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) mucin upregulated. mRNA H2R, M3R, CCK2R, H+/K+ ATPase significantly following treatment YWS. Conclusions: provides protection properties, reduced secretion, enhanced release defensive factors.

Ethnopharmacological relevance: The herb Abutilon theophrasti Medic. (AT, Qingma in Chinese), a widely distributed medicinal plant various regions worldwide, is commonly used China for treating inflammatory diseases the gastrointestinal (GI) tract such as dysentery. However, pharmacological basis of this peptic ulcer, also an condition GI tract, remains insufficiently understood. Aim study: To investigate ameliorating effects and mechanism action standardized aqueous extract AT (ATAE) on experimental gastric ulcer (GU) rats using bioinformatic approaches.

In the contemporary medical landscape, burgeoning interest in natural therapies, particularly for managing gastrointestinal disorders, has brought traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to forefront. This article explains core principles and clinical applications of TCM treating these conditions, furthering discourse through an examination integrated strategies, as demonstrated study by Zhou et al. While shown promising outcomes, it encounters significant hurdles standardization, mechanistic research, validation. Future investigations should aim solidify scientific underpinnings expand its use disease management, striving a seamless fusion practices.

Background: Electroacupuncture (EA) is a promising treatment for gastrointestinal disorders, yet the efficacy of different acupoint combinations remains mechanistically undefined. We evaluated therapeutic effects on mucosal inflammatory injury induced in rat model gastric ulcer (GU) and dissected its molecular mechanisms through transcriptomic profiling. Methods: A GU was established using hypothermic restrained water immersion stress. EA therapy administered to He-Mu (ST36-CV12), Shu-Mu (BL21-CV12), Yuan-Luo (ST42- ST40) 5 days. were by coat score, fecal moisture percentage, pain threshold, body mass, organ index, histopathological changes, serum level oxidative stress, cytokine levels tissue. transcriptome analysis identified related differentially expressed genes (DEGs) central signaling pathway. Real-time quantitative PCR Western blot performed verify mRNA protein expression main Results: alleviated rats, with group exhibiting superior tissue damage alleviation, as well inflammation stress reductions. Venn diagram revealed shared pathway among three groups, corresponding focal adhesion. Quantitative validation confirmed that mRNA, protein, phosphorylated FAK, VCL, EGFR—the core signal transduction factors adhesion activated after treatment—were upregulated, consistent their efficacy. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated combination exhibited combinations. improved varying degrees, The VCL , EGFR are targets, further studies needed elucidate functional consequences GU. A literature search was conducted using databases from Web Science, PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, Science Direct Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wanfang. The inclusion criteria for this study were limited to reports RA, AS-IV, cycloastragenol, astragalus polysaccharide (APS), astragalosides (AST) in treatment ulcers.
