Abstract Air pollution is a multifaceted issue affecting people’s health, environment, and biodiversity. Gaining comprehension of the interactions between natural anthropocentric pollutant concentrations local climate challenging. This study aims to address following two questions: (1) What influential mechanism climatic anthropogenic factors on ground-level ozone (O 3 ) in an urban environment during different seasons? (2) Can weekend effect be observed medium-sized city like Craiova, under which conditions? In order answer these questions, with meteorological parameters (temperature, pressure, relative humidity) (particulate matter, carbon dioxide, volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, nitrogen nitric oxide monoxide) evaluated based one-year dataset given by low-cost sensor provided National Environment Agency. Using statistical analysis programs, Python SPSS, good understanding correlations variables concentration obtained. The SPSS underscores significant impact three nine other pollutants level. A positive correlation noticed summer when sunlight intense photochemical reactions are elevated. relationship temperature strong positive, as confirmed Spearman’s rho coefficient ( r = 0.880). negative found humidity -0.590). Moreover, shows that particulate matter exhibit ≈ -0.542), indicating higher reduce levels. Volatile compounds show -0.156). dioxide -0.343), indicates elevated levels might also suppress concentrations. 0.060), highlights role production through reactions. However, -0.055) due its formation. Carbon monoxide has no statistically concentration. To observe differences weekdays weekends, T-Test was used. Even though were temperature, humidity, did not highlight mid-sized Craiova. Python, daily values calculated compared limit recommended World Health Organization (WHO) European Agency (EEA). WHO O exceeded for 13 times one year. offers comprehensive serving valuable reference decision-makers. It provides critical insights into seasonal dynamics levels, emphasizing formation complex various factors.
