A headspace gas chromatographic tandem mass spectrometric (HS-GC-MS/MS) method was developed and fully validated, aiming for the simultaneous determination of 25 volatile organic compounds (VOCs, some them previously unreported in honey bee studies) 52 selected samples from Greece. The HS conditions were optimized, validation criteria extensively investigated. existence impact matrix effect assessed, matrix-matched calibration curves quantification purposes. limits analytes ranged 0.2 ng g−1 to 0.6 g−1. Isoprene most commonly detected VOC, followed by octane styrene. Other VOCs include benzene, n-hexane, trimethylbenzenes, xylenes, toluene, p-dichlorobenzene. Concentrations fluctuated 0.5 isoprene as well 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, 22.6 isoprene. Despite not being at forefront honey’s potential contamination, their prevalence can provide significant data human health risk assessment, considering undisputable widespread consumption documented toxicity humans. In this sense, assessment adults children, depicted hazard quotient index carcinogenic determination, did disclose any threat after investigated samples.

This study deals with the investigation of cyfluthrin, cypermethrin, deltamethrin, and malathion residues in local honey samples from Gümüşhane, Turkey. The determination was performed GC/MS-MS method HP-5MS column under certain conditions: 120 ℃ oven temperature, 250 injection 121.9 kPa pressure 1.2-1.8 mL/min flow rates. were picked eighteen stations Gümüşhane. Standard addition employed chromatographic determination. No pesticide detected fifteen stations, nevertheless, subjected pesticides determined collected other three stations. residue levels varied 0.18 mg/kg to 9.50 at 1.5 rate. results also evaluated Box-Behnken Design (BBD) optimization. Multivariate experimental design (flow rate station, type) for constructing quadratic models. Regression analysis showed that predictive values yielded by model are quite close each coefficient (R2) 0.985.

Highly Hazardous Pesticides (HHPs) have been identified as substances with severe adverse effects, including carcinogenicity, endocrine disruption, and reproductive toxicity. The aim of this study was to evaluate pesticide residues in fruits vegetables from Hopelchén provide evidence for policy recommendations on regulation. A total 25 samples were collected analyzed using the QuEChERS method GC-MS/MS LC-MS techniques. Of 156 pesticides screened, detected, tebuconazole, chlorantraniliprole, imidacloprid carbendazim among most frequent. Approximately 20% qualified HHPs based WHO/FAO criteria, while 60% categorized according more comprehensive criteria outlined by Pesticide Action Network International. Many these exhibited toxicity bees high environmental persistence. Furthermore, 33% exceeded European Union's Maximum Residue Limits, particularly papayas bell peppers. Our findings show presence region, which represent critical hazards ecosystem, pollinator populations, public health. This work may contribute development specific classification Mexico, thus advancing transition toward safer, special emphasis vulnerable regions such Mayan zone southeastern Mexico.

The chemical composition of honey, and therefore its quality properties, is influenced by many factors, including botanical origin the harvesting conditions—the location apiary, access to melliferous plants, proximity industrial infrastructure communication routes, etc. This may be reduced undesirable, toxic compounds that penetrate honey from a contaminated environment, such as heavy metals residues other environmental pollutants. Therefore, aim our research was assess honeys urbanized areas—in particular, contamination with persistent organic pollutants (PAHs). In total, 35 samples six different apiaries located in areas were examined. content (Cd, Pb, Zn) determined atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS), total PAHs sum concentrations benzo(a)anthracene, chrysene, benzo(b)fluoranthene benzo(a)pyrene high-performance liquid chromatography fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD). average zinc ranged about 2 4.5 mg/kg, lead 3.5 µg/kg 388 cadmium 0.5 14 µg/kg. It found all contained certain amounts harmful metals, only exceeded permissible limits. None tested exceeding 10 honey. Contrary expectations, results obtained indicate do not contain these substances. general, presence does not, however, reduce honey’s or health value.
